Promoting with Facebook, Twitter, etc., has it helped you?

I'm still pretty new and mainly just trying to get my shop built up, but now I'm wondering about using Facebook and Twitter. Are you using your personal FB accounts or have you made a separate account for your Etsy shop? And Twitter? Not sure why I even ask about that, I barely know about it, just know you can follow or be followed:)

I don't have a Twitter, but I have a separate Facebook account. I haven't really seen a lot of traffic from it, but I have seen a little. But, I don't think I have any sales in either of my shops from Facebook. But most of my followers are from my local area, and they just don't buy stuff unless you practically give it to them. Maybe others have had better luck, anxious to hear from more shops on this subject.
