Promoted listings

Anybody has had any experience with the new feature ' promoted listings" ?
Would like to hear some feedback on this.

Uhm, Nodi, i guess this treath is not for promoting your listing.

Anyway, i do not have any experience with promoted listings. I saw the option the other day and haven't decided to use it or not.

I'm running promoted listings for all my items at www.pearlandgemjewelry.etsy.com and also www.dianakirkpatrickart.etsy.com.

I'm running a sale through Sept 28 at dianakirkpatrickart, but by the end of October I should have some indication of the value vs the cost. Right now I don't know if sales are due to the promotion or to my sale.

We run them and find them worth the $, but only barely. They've been getting steadily more expensive over the last year, bah.

I ran them for about 3 days & stopped just short of $10 - the only sale I got was $9 and not sure if that was due to promoting or not.

Here's the kicker, though... I got my bill today to find out they had been restarted on Sept. 19 (unbeknownst to me) to the tune of approx $80. I am not a happy camper. I can't find anything that can proved that I turned them off & didn't turn them back on.

I have contacted Admin - I think I have anyway. You have to wade through the sea of pre-determined Help topics to actually be able to send a message. Haven't heard back yet, but I am hoping they will honor my request to remove this extra amount from my bill.

Anyway - I'm not trying to be negative. Just want to warn unsuspecting sellers that there is a 'glitch'

Being unsure about this new idea regarding how it is suppose to save us money on advertsing, I signed up for the $1.00 per day (the lowest you can go) and found that day #1 cost me $1.42. Since this particular shop has been on the losing end since I opened in July 2011, I will most liklely close it permanently after Christmas.

We run promoted listings and get a lot of impressions but not a lot of clicks. However, being a newer shop trying to gain traction, I think it's worth it for us to get noticed. Plus, you only pay for clicks, so we seldom hit our daily limit. I'm sure more established shops will find more success from it.

I do find it much easier and better than the old search ads, which we didn't have a lot of experience with but didn't like how I had to set up specific keywords. The promoted listings will automatically pull in your new listings and keywords.

I am running Promote listings, get a discrete number of impressions but 2 clicks per day. I left the budget on $ 1. The items I am promoting are the more expensive in my shop, $ 25 max and if I do not get any sale the cost doesn't worth the earning. No sales, so far. I will try for another week or two and then I will stop them if I do not get sales.

Hi there Linda, I noticed you from your avi image and know that you are on my team......how often do you take part in our disscussions and games, bnr's/bns and our blitz that we sponsor every month....you have got to get noticed. Show off your items and your shop.....you will sell items.

I run promoted listings for about 8 days.
I got thousands of impressions but only 29 clicks. I spent 9$ and had no revenue...

I had the same experience as Georgia. I promoted for about a week at $1 per day. Zero, zilch, nada revenue. So disappointing.
