Hi all! I read the new blog post on "Why Your Profile and Product Need a Compelling Story" today and re-did my profile. I'd love some feedback! I used to have a really short profile, just a paragraph, because I thought people wouldn't want to click "Read more" to read the whole thing. But now I've got a longer profile. Too long? I'd love to hear what people think, and see other people's profiles if you've edited them recently. Thanks!

Hi Cathy,

I think your profile is both personal and professional. I especially like the "early years as an author" bit :)

Yesterday I shortened my profile so it wouldn't have the "read more" extension -- lol -- now your profile's making me rethink my rewrite!

Cathy, I love it! I would love to see the book you made as a child! If you still have it you should add a photo of it in your banner. And I love your books...especially the ones with the colored page edges.

And I think your profile is great! I like the little backstory at the beginning. It's cute and ties in to the rest of your profile really well!

I read the Etsy success on profiles too. I like yours, Cathy. It's a nice mix of you and what you do and make.

I divided mine into sections and now I don't know if I should switch the sections around so the 'about me' is to the beginning and the 'about my shop' is at the end..... Or if it's just all too long. Any input is appreciated.

Hi Terri,
I like your profile! I like that it sounds really conversational and natural... I have a hard time writing like that. I think the order you have it in is fine, with the ABOUT MY SHOP section at the top and ABOUT ME at the bottom. It doesn't feel like it's jumping around to different topics, it feels like a natural progression in what you're talking about, so I think it works! Also having the ABOUT MY SHOP section at the top is good because people can get the gist of your shop without having to click "Read more", and if they want to know more about you, they can click!

Your profile is nice, but could be a bit longer- maybe describe what you sell, why you make your items, what they're made out of, etc.

Cathy I really like how you wrote your profile!
Terri, In my opinion I think it should start with the passionate about part then go right into About Me part; because I think the profile should be about the person and what they do and why. Some of the other things could go in the Shop Announcement and Policies sections.

I rewrote my Profile last week after reading on the Etsy Blog "How-To Distinguish Yourself from the Mass Market", What do you think? I think I should shorten it, but not sure how to.
