Printing Shipping Labels from ETSY sold order page

I printed a shipping label without having to out to paypal.

I don't have any open orders right at the moment, all have shipped, so I guess I will have to wait until the next order to see if I have it.

It's a new feature they added literally yesterday. I don't think everyone gets it yet, but they've started rolling it out to US shops with DC enabled.

I'm not positive but I think they might have been rolling that out a few users at a time, as I've had it for a few weeks now. Either that of it was available to me because I'm signed up for a couple prototypes.

I'm not too keen on it though, for one you have to have DC turned on, which I don't. but another reason is that it is more expensive than Paypal labels...

The 3 ounce package I shipped is the same price as paypal 1.64. click & ship is 1.98
Can't beat cheaper than the post office.

I agree with Amy - I do not like the fact that we are "forced" to use DC in order to take advantage of these new options Etsy is rolling out.

Is this not available to everyone using DC? I don't see it on my page. I sent a package this morning and had to use USPS click and ship. Or am I just missing it?

I like having another option to paypal. There are still customers who are not confortable signing up with paypal just to pay us. Most store sites use a direct checkout format.
As a shop owner, the only difference to me was the lack of an easy way to print shipping labels. I am very pleased.
Most of my international orders are light enough to be first class so I have to take those to the post office. None of the services offer to print international first class.
I offer to take checks and money orders but that is rarely used.

After reading the article, I think it's great, but I don't plan on using DC anytime soon, I guess I will still just print my labels from PayPal. No biggie.

Anne, I use Endicia to print First Class USPS International postage. I don't have a way to get to the PO, so I'll gladly pay the $10 a month for using them. I ship a lot of international packages, so it's worth it for me though.

Dont think of it as them forcing you to use direct checkout to get this new feature. They are just providing a feature we already have through paypal for users of DC. It makes it easier than having to import the info from DC into paypal.

Of course I have had DC set up for a few weeks and all my sales since then have still been through paypal. So I still don't know how well DC works!

I have DC and had a sale through it today but, can't find the shipping through Etsy. Am I missing something or is it not offered to everyone yet?

Can any of you help me answer a question about Ship Labels?? I have been going to the post office to weigh and pay...Sounds like printing my own labels is cheaper? ETSY said it includes delivery confirmation with the label, but when I went through the steps I didn't see that option and the shipping on the 2 oz package was $1.64, I pay $1.98 at the PO plus the extra .82 for the tracking.
So My question is.... how does the tracking portion work? Does it come up afterward, do I print out the tracking number??
If it is indeed cheaper I would love to use it...I'm chicken to complete the process because I am unsure of how it all pans out (and my printer is currently out of ink, so I backed out before I finished).
HELP ME?? I would love to be walked through the process before I actually do it! THANK YOU!!

I've just started using this. It is a little cheaper. The tracking number is printed out on the label. It's also linked in your shop orders records, which is pretty cool, since you can just click on the tracking number and get the shipping status of the item (if it's in transit, delivered, etc.).

So when does it charge the extra amount for the tracking? Is it an option after you confirm to purchase the ship label for the $1.64?
sounds like I all I really need to do this then is a good scale for the packages I am unsure of.

I think it just includes the tracking info for free. When you click through to order the shipping label on the next screen you can see the tracking # there. Then you have to click again to Download the shipping label. Then print!

I have not been able to get a price that low, $1.64 with Etsy shipping, so I haven't used it. Do you enter in a weight somewhere?

Renee, the extra charge is included in the $1.64. But as I said, I have not been able to get that rate through Etsy shipping. I don't know why.

PayPal also charges $1.64 which includes shipping if you buy your postage through them. (that is, if your customer paid with PayPal)

@ Anne - shipping through etsy, you can print 1st class, both domestic and international. I don't even remember when I was last at the post office...I couldn't do business if I had to!

I am hoping everyone will be able to print labels through etsy real soon, it makes it so easy!

Have both DC and printing shipping labels thru Etsy and love it. Very easy to confirm address and print labels. I thought it was available to all US sellers??

Me too! I want to be able to accept gift cards w/out DC.

I haven't tried printing labels yet, because I've been nervous about whether I'll get the weight right etc. Running to the PO is really inconvenient, so I'd like to start doing shipping this way. What sort if scale does everyone use? I have a digital kitchen scale but I was concerned it might not be accurate enough. The last thing I want is my package arriving at someones door with postage due! Or worse yet, not arriving at all!
