Pricing Help

Would love to hear some feedback on my pricing. Having trouble determining whether or not its too low.

Since all my items are hand sewn/cut, I try to determine my price for my time....

Here's some links to my stuff...

Thanks for any tips!

Re: Pricing Help

I am horrible with pricing, but I don't think they are too much, not sure if too low. I noticed your shop a couple of weeks ago when searching for button pins, and I thought they were right on with pricing. As for the plushes, not sure, but I do love that macarnoi guy, oh so cute.

Sweet!! Glad you like my stuff. Mac Daddy is pretty awesome. I think he's my favorite now.

Convo me if you're ever interested in custom buttons. I also got some coupon codes ;]

Re: Pricing Help

I am not sure about my own prices, worried that if they too high people don't buy, too low and I devalue my work. I think that rafts are hard to price. But, for what is worth, I think your prices are low for the work you put into it.

Re: Pricing Help

I can't tell you whether or not your prices are 'right' but here's a guideline to help you decide.

To determine the price of an item figure out
1) cost of materials
2) cost of your time (how much you pay yourself)
3) other expenses (paypal, etsy fees, etc)
4) the profit you want for the item

Take the sum of the above 4 things and that will be your 'base' or wholesale price - the price you sell in volume at. Double that price to get your 'retail' price or Etsy price.

This allows you to do volume discounts as well as run the occasional sale without loosing a ton of money!

Re: Pricing Help

Goodluck with pricing! I struggle with this all the time. It's tough to price you want to be noticed but not by expensive prices. I think your pricing is great.

Re: Pricing Help

I'm not very good at pricing either, but I have a designer friend that keeps telling me to up my prices. I'm comfortable where they are now. I know that's not much help. I think crochetgirl has the right answer. Thank you.

Re: Pricing Help

A lot of people tell me to raise my prices too. I factor in the cost of materials and my time, which is the bulk of it seeing as my items are time consuming.

I dont think your prices are too high

Re: Pricing Help

Hi,

I too struggle with pricing, yours looks right to me though.

I sell bibs (totally different to yours) for $10US. Correction-I try to sell bibs for $10, havent sold bibs on Etsy yet. However that price was perfect for market stalls.

Yours should do well, they are different to anything I have seen.

Good luck. Keep on keeping on.

Btw-mac guy is adorable. He should be a hit :)
