Prices too pricey?

Dearest Etsians,

Check my shop out, do you think my items are too highly priced? My items are free of shipping, so I include a dollar or two to my items to cover shipping within the cost. I recently lowered my cell phone cases from 25 to 20. Even though the supplies are cheap, they take a long time to make! Thanks for your help!

Re: Prices too pricey?

I hope this was a trick question : )

Your prices..if anything, are on the lower side. I think they are extremely reasonable.

You do need more pictures though. You should include pics of people wearing the clips in their hair...try to use all 5 pictures etsy provides to you.

Your crochet flowers are very cute! Your prices seem low to me too, but I really don't know much about your market and competitors pricing. Just make sure you aren't selling yourself short, your time is valuable, too!

Your items are not highly priced at all. Its a good idea to have free shipping. I always have wondered if it matters or not. lol!

Re: Prices too pricey?

Thanks so much for all of your advice! Some of my items are very quick to make so I would feel bad raising the prices any more. I haven't had any sales in February, so I was wondering if it was due to my prices!

Nicole I would also state that you are hand making each piece. Let your buyers know that you are making each piece, give a little personality to your listings and describe the process, you don't have to go into great detail, but its nice to know the craftsmanship that you use because right now your item descriptions are quite vague.

Re: Prices too pricey?

Considering they include local shipping, your prices are low.

Have you ever considered selling outside of your country? Etsy after all is a worldwide selling platform.
Of course you would have to start charging shipping costs and you could still increase your prices.

Re: Prices too pricey?

As a seller including shipping in your price instead of as separate shipping cost means you pay more fees and actually lose a portion of your "shipping" that you added to your price. When you do separate shipping etsy doesn't charge a fee for it. So as a seller it makes absolutely no sense to me.

As a buyer, as long as I think the shipping seems reasonable it makes more sense to me to pay it. With free shipping I'm concerned that it's not packaged nicely/safely and it's going the cheapest, longest way to me.

But to each his own.

Re: Prices too pricey?

Understandable! Thanks for the advice! I was thinking that free shipping would appeal to a customer.

Re: Prices too pricey?

As a buyer, I'm good with your prices. Your items are cute and I could afford them even if I didn't have a budget for accessories. And also as a buyer, I like free shipping because I think I scored a good deal, I feel special. I don't want fancy packaging, just the item I paid for arriving in good condition.

Re: Prices too pricey?

I don't think your prices are too high. I have hand knit phone copies in my shop as well and they haven't done well at $12 each. I wonder if they are an item that just doesn't do well at all.
