Price and Sales question

Hi All,

Leading up to valentine's day, I had a good amount of traffic. A big part thanks to having my cards featured in the Etsy vday card section.

After vday though, my sales and views have dropped significantly. I thought about it and came up with these possible reasons.

1. Vday was a one-off thing, a seasonal spike
2. I increased the price on my postcards but decreased postage but I've priced it out of range
3. I need to add new items to my shop(I am working on it now that I have the time to).

I thought I maybe overpriced my postcard but it could be the timing of everything else as well.

Any thoughts or advice will be appreciated.

I don't think it's your prices or shipping costs, which seem pretty reasonable to me (I personally think some of your prices are low).

I think it's your titles, tags and the fact that you only have 10 listings that are the reason for the low views.

I noticed items that were recently listed (maybe relisted?) are still tagged for Valentine's Day. That's a wasted tag and can be replaced with the word anniversary or other love search term. You have a lot of single word tags that probably aren't being used in searches. They can be replaced with phrases such as silly love card, funny postcard, walrus card, etc. Your title "lovelove walrus" - do you ever see that in your search views? You can keep it in your title, but I'd also add other phrases that are more likely to be searched. Think like a buyer when creating titles and tags. If you were looking for a card like that, what would you type in the search box?

For SURE your titles and tags and the more items you have, the better chance of being found. Don't tag and title everything the same and make sure you don't COPY your listings, always create a new listing. I know it's a pain but it does help you get found.

I agree with what has been said in the responses above (play with tags, add more items, but your shop is great and your prices are completely reasonable!) Best wishes! =^-^=

You are very creative....but "who" are you....your about page says you are a Gorilla....I like to buy from a real live person. That being said...I do think you have talent and price things right. You need more listings though, and Mother's Day will be here before you know it. One of the biggest shopping days of the year for cards. I just don't want to buy from some HUGE vendor "using" Etsy to sale their wares. Tell your story, not the Gorillas. It may be more convincing and persuasive for a buyer.

Your shop and products are adorable! And I think the prices are very reasonable. They're about the same as a store.

The titles are a bit too vague. I wasn't sure which was a postcard and which were cards until I clicked. I also didn't understand the differences in price until I clicked because of that reason. I love the creativity of the shots though! Especially the walrus and the ice (so cute!)

And you have a new customer from posting on this team so DEFINITELY keep promoting yourself. I never would have found your shop without this:)

Thanks so much for the feedback! I didn't expect to get so many responses!

I'm quite private but I understand that people like to connect to another human being, I'll do something to improve that :)

I'm relieved to hear that I didn't price myself out of range. I wrestled for a long time before I increased the prices, I wanted to keep them affordable and even felt a little guilty increasing them.

I'll definitely work on the titles and improve the tags, making things more clear.

Completely forgot about Mother's day, I'm going to make that my project for the next 2 weeks.

You have great products and an awesome shop! I think you just need to expand and add more seasonal items (think of every holiday or occasion someone might need a card for - thank you, birthday, etc) Right now you mostly have love related products, so no wonder you made a killing for Vday!

Yes, very cute shop and original designs. I agree, you need to have more items in your shop to increase your views. I noticed a change when I had 50 items and it got much better when I had 100. Have you thought about making magnets? I bet you they will sell really well wit the designs you already have.
