Posting an External Link to my website in my Etsy descriptions???

Hi All!!!
Just a quick question about this. I have a shop that sells digital files as well as a print option. I just got an email saying that I can't drop ship the printed product because technically I didn't make it. Soooooo, can I offer just the digital files on Etsy and then link to my website for printing and I will take the printing off of Etsy and only sell the digital files. I do not sell the digital file on my website and have a link on every page to Etsy if they want the digital file. Would that be ok?

Etsy rules state that you can display a link to a web site that sells a product or service that your Etsy shop does not sell.

You can sell your digital files on Etsy.

You sell other services on your Web site and include a link to your Web site from your Etsy shop.

I have done this for over a year and know that this is okay with Etsy.

That seems like fee avoidance Mary... sure its no ill will.
I cant go Hey here is a blue heart, if you really wanted a red one I sell those here!....mywebsite! But not on etsy...so buy it from there!

My understanding is you can not post links up to sites that sell Anything that doesnt give etsy their dues. in laymans.


Sure maybe get away with it...but if etsy is lookin at you at the moment...think it best not to push it.

If I were you, I would want to run this past Etsy to make sure what would be considered acceptable.

I am under the impression that linking to another site is not acceptable per the handbook, unless I have misunderstood that part.

From what I saw on one of your listings, I do not see where you are doing drop shipping unless you have already changed that. My understanding is that drop shipping is where your finished product is shipped from elsewhere and not from you directly.

I've been emailing with Etsy and they said it was fine for me to link to my website from my listings to offer the printing service because I cannot sell that on Etsy because I drop ship them from a professional printing studio. So as long as it isn't something I'm selling on Etsy then I can link it.

ok now im confused i know you can't drop ship but can you use a professional printing service and then ship from your home?
