Postal Scale vs. Kitchen Scale

This may seem like a silly question, but is there a difference between a postal scale and a kitchen scale when weighing items and figuring out shipping costs?

I don't think so if you scale can weigh ounces and pounds....

it will work fine, as long as it shows ounces -- it just might not go up high enough to weigh larger items :)

I use a kitchen scale from wal-mart and have not had any problems. It's a huge time-saver to weigh my packages, print labels from paypal, and put them in my own mailbox.

I have been weighing things at home and then double checking at the post office to make sure my scales are correct. So far, o.k.
