Postage for square envelopes

Does anyone know the surcharge for square envelopes (5 3/4 x 5 3/4) and less than 3 ounces? I saw a mention somewhere that it may be $0.44 + $0.20 surcharge but want to confirm. Unfortunately I searched high and low on the USPS.com site and could not find the answer. All I ever found was it "could be subject to a surcharge." Next time I visit a USPS location I will confirm but until then if anyone knew for sure I'd appreciate knowing before popping a card in the mails. Thanks!!

Just go to a USPS office and have them explain it to you. You don't actually have to send anything, just ask them to explain it really quickly.

Notice 123 is what you want to remember for USPS domestic shipping costs. Non-machinable items are .20 more.

I know , usps.com is horrible to find anything on.

I send non-machinable envelopes all the time and only put a 'forever' stamp on them. I've never had a problem.

I send out a couple the other day for my daughter and they got returned for insufficient funds with Forever stamps. I thought they would be enough... Indianapolis POs show no mercy. LOL

They actually have really great 64 cent stamps with butterflies on them.
