I have studied the SEO and must not be getting it. I got this item to show up under recent but not relevancy as is the case with most of my items. What am I doing that is wrong?

I wish I could help but I don't see any issues with the title. You're not the only one though. A lot of my items don't seem to show up when they should. According to shoptimizer I'm doing well with tags and titles.

The title on this listing is pretty short, more would be better for etsy.

The tags match the title pretty well, there are only four words to match so it would be hard not to.

The description is short also, more would be better for google.

Pictures are clear and very well lit. Nothing especially attention grabbing. You are in a saturated market so your title, tags, and picture should be absolutely top-notch. Even then it will be hard. When I search for blue earrings, etsy gives me 180k matches, you have 22 matches in your shop, pretty long odds.

Sections look good for google.

When I typed in starfish necklace boho it came up on the first page. Just typing in startfish necklace brought up 5,616 items. My pendants usually end up on page 50 or 60 unless I run the ads for $5.00 a week. It might be worth it around Christmas time. Have you tried tumblr, rebelmouse, wanelo, stumble upon and pinterest?

Shoptimizer said shorten my titles so I did.
I also did the ads and notice most of my items ended up on pages 1-5 that week. Do we have to promote every week to get our items on pages 1-10?

Gwen, I noticed that in your description I don't see the word "necklace" anywhere. You should state that it's a long rose gold chain necklace with a beautiful glass starfish pendant. Is the starfish pendant handcrafted? If so, I think that should be stated as well. Then in your tags below I have a few suggestions: starfish necklace, starfish jewelry, ocean jewelry, rose gold necklace, ocean accessories. You should try to use multiple word tags and not things like "brown" and "accessories". That's incredibly broad making it less relevant.

I have never done ads, but many of my items show up on page one. You are in a more saturated market with jewelry though, so perhaps ads are a good thing for you to invest in.. I can't say since I have a totally different market.

I have a few pretty long titles, but those items are still being found by google and etsy alike, so I don't think the length of the title is incredibly important as long as the title is relevant. That's what I found in my experience. :)

I have tried ads twice and never goy a sale from them. I did not relist while I was doing them and my views went WAY down. Not a fan of ads.

I hear long titles, then I hear short titles. I know, with my shop, my views have doubled since changing to long titles. They still aren't were I would like them to be, but at this point I'll take what I can get.

I think I was getting more views but Shoptimizer kept telling me my descriptions and listings were too long.
