Re: Please Help

Just a heads up... international shipping just went way up ($6.16 just to ship very lightweight items like yours and mine). I noticed you have .99 shipping on items that costs only around $5. You won't make any money at all with your international shipping that low, it will all go to shipping costs.

Re: Please Help

I actually think most of your photos are really good, Kimberly. Most are very bright and colorful. Just a few are a little too dark. I would say the biggest things would be to add more items, work on your tags (you're not using all of them), and promote outside of Etsy.

Edited for spelling =/

Re: Please Help

Jewelry is a very competitive market here on etsy, so you'll just have to present you products in the best way possible, maybe work little more on the photos and shop image, and also find a way to promote your items outside etsy.

Re: Please Help

Your shop needs a lot of work. I'll use the item below as an example.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/121676028/studs?

The single word "studs" in your title will never be found in a search for earrings. Your titles need a lot more detail and keyword phrases. I don't understand your tags at all : hat, shoes, clothes, baby wear, baby items, toys, pants, shirts. What does that have to do with these earrings?

The buyer can't pick up and look at your item. You need to describe it as accurately as possible. Answer these questions for the buyer:
Are the earrings handmade or vintage? If they're vintage, how old are they, is there a story behind them?
If they're handmade, what type of metal is used? What kind of stones were used? Did you use a special technique that gives them a unique style?

The photos are very dark and fuzzy and appear to be upside down in this listing. This looks more like a bracelet to me than earrings.

Your price for this item and shipping fees are way too low. You're going to lose money if this item sells. Domestic shipping (within U.S.) is $1.69 if you print labels through Etsy shipping or Paypal and just over $2.00 at the post office. Overseas will cost over $6.00 to ship (that's the commercial rate, I don't know what it'll cost at the post office). Etsy and Paypal/Direct Checkout will both charge you transaction fees when the item is sold and payment is collected.

I suggest reading the link provided above so you can start off on the right foot here. Good luck with your shop!

Re: Please Help

I just googled one of your items and found it, along with all the others (but it wasn't on Etsy).

Your items are not allowed on Etsy. Etsy is for handmade items, vintage items and supplies.

From the Etsy Do's & Don'ts
http://www.etsy.com/help/article/483?ref=hc_policy
'
Handmade items must be created by the seller operating the Etsy shop (or a member of that shop).

Selling commercial or mass-produced items in Etsy's handmade categories is not permitted.

You may not list handmade items that you (or a member of your shop) did not create. This is considered reselling and is not permitted.

The Vintage category is for items that are at least 20 years old.

Re: Please Help

Kimberly, have you tried selling on Ebay? If your goal is to sell bargains, Ebay is MUCH better than Etsy. Ebay customers are looking for bargains, Etsy customers are looking for uniqueness and high quality.

I sell on both....my handmade and vintage items on Etsy, and everything else on Ebay...oh and used books on Amazon. It works really well.
