As soon as August rolls into September, and the summer here in New York comes to a close, I can’t help but think about the upcoming Holiday Season. Instead of searching for items for myself, I start prioritizing other people’s wish-lists. Since I usually don’t have a big spending budget to purchase items, naturally, this shift sparks a fire in me to DIY my holiday gifts, which in turn, inspires me to work on my Etsy shop.

This year, I’m going to approach things a little differently. Instead of prioritizing handmade gifts, I’m going to set goals around my shop. My goal for this year is to stock more items and create holiday themed branding, such as gift wrap and an updated banner, that I can highlight in my shop and in social media.

To help us achieve our goals throughout the Holiday Season, the Seller Education team has been hard at work compiling a great series of educational content. Lets start this Holiday Season off right by signing up for this years Holiday Bootcamp: https://blog.etsy.com/en/2014/register-now-for-holiday-boot-camp-2014/

Next, think about what your goals are for this Holiday Season and share them with us below!* A goal can be anything from listing a new item to reaching your 100th sale. By writing them down and sharing with others, you'll reinforce your commitment to them. Who knows, your goal could inspire others or even be featured in an upcoming Online Labs event with the Seller Education Team!

*When sharing your goal for this season, please introduce yourself and share how long you've been selling on Etsy.

Hi, my name is Shannon. I'm fairly new to Etsy, I sell a variety of items. I do anything from rug hooking and repurposing items to photography and antiques. I have yet to sell any items. My goals are to take better pictures of my items and just in general to thrive on Etsy.

Re: Placeholder

My goal is pretty simple: have a listing blitz until the end of November and then take a month off from listing in December to enjoy my family and the holiday season. I'll check on my shop a couple of times a day to answer convos and ship promptly.

I did this last year and it was wonderful. I was recharged and ready to roll in the new year!

Our goal is to promote our Family Fundraiser for Charity which is named after our daughter Anjeni (Angel in Algonquin). Feel free to check it out. We want to give to others during this season.

Re: Placeholder

Hi I'm Reyes. I opened up my etsy shop in 2010 but have only been dedicating it time and effort in the last year or so.

My initial goal, when I first read this thread, was to have 20 sales, I am happy to say that I have had 30 sales so far and now I am feeling ambitious so my new goal is to reach my 100th sale before Christmas. That and photographing all the new designs I am producing (my creativity is in a better and faster shape than my photography skills).

Good luck to everyone, hope we all reach our goals!

Re: Placeholder

I have been selling on etsy since 2009. I make embroidered wall hangings, plush animals, and more. My goal this holiday season is to ship everything out 1-2 days after it sells, and to make at least 100 sales from now until Dec 25th. Seems like a lot of sales, but I know if I list them and tag them correctly I can do it! Good lucky to all the other shops out there! We are so lucky to have this community. <3

Re: Placeholder

Our goals are:
- to get no less than 50 more sales before the end of the year;
- to keep adding the new listings, so that the stock would not go under 500 items;
- to complete and to launch own website.

Re: Placeholder

gnOME here <:^)
I've had an Etsy Shop for over a year and haven't sold a single item. I'd like to figure out how to upgrade my shop in a way that present my items well. I've made a good amount of sales with in-person vending but no luck on here.

My goal for this Holiday Season is to get my first sale on Etsy!

(any tips or suggestions to upgrade my shop are appreciated)

I really started putting effort into my shop this year and it's really paid off, though I'm still low on sales. My goal is 4 sales through this holiday season! Good luck to all!

Hello all, I'm Ali from Hocus Pocus & Co! I joined Etsy a little over a month ago and am loving it so far.
My goal for the holiday season is to add 3 new holiday themed scents to the shop and sell one of each. I also want to add a special mason jar version, a little bigger than our current candles.
Good luck to you all and Happy Holidays!

Re: Placeholder

I'm new - or have been here a month. Made one sale of my least expensive item, to an on line friend and nothing since. So much work and nothing to show for it yet. I don't think setting a holiday goal would have much point. Feeling a bit discouraged.

Re: Placeholder

I started way to late this year to add volume to my shop. I meant to do it sooner but time seemed to fly by.
At this point I'm adding on an average of 5 items per day until I run out of materials.

Good luck to us all!

Hi Everyone,

First I'd like to say that I hope we all achieve our goals for this year!
My goal is to reach a milestone of 375 sales for year end. That's 15 more to go.

Happy Holidays to all :)

Re: Placeholder

A sale is a sale and for that I am grateful! But all sales except one or two have been from friends and family, I guess I'd feel like I really made it or something if someone outside my circles purchased. But, that is out of my control, I will be promoting some BlackFriday and SmallBusinessSaturday Sales which I will be promoting on all my social media. I'd like to get one sale from that!
