As soon as August rolls into September, and the summer here in New York comes to a close, I can’t help but think about the upcoming Holiday Season. Instead of searching for items for myself, I start prioritizing other people’s wish-lists. Since I usually don’t have a big spending budget to purchase items, naturally, this shift sparks a fire in me to DIY my holiday gifts, which in turn, inspires me to work on my Etsy shop.

This year, I’m going to approach things a little differently. Instead of prioritizing handmade gifts, I’m going to set goals around my shop. My goal for this year is to stock more items and create holiday themed branding, such as gift wrap and an updated banner, that I can highlight in my shop and in social media.

To help us achieve our goals throughout the Holiday Season, the Seller Education team has been hard at work compiling a great series of educational content. Lets start this Holiday Season off right by signing up for this years Holiday Bootcamp: https://blog.etsy.com/en/2014/register-now-for-holiday-boot-camp-2014/

Next, think about what your goals are for this Holiday Season and share them with us below!* A goal can be anything from listing a new item to reaching your 100th sale. By writing them down and sharing with others, you'll reinforce your commitment to them. Who knows, your goal could inspire others or even be featured in an upcoming Online Labs event with the Seller Education Team!

*When sharing your goal for this season, please introduce yourself and share how long you've been selling on Etsy.

Re: Placeholder

My goal is to double Etsy views and sales as compared d to 2013. Although I have some repeat buyers, I intend to increase in my percentage of repeat buyers.

Re: Placeholder

Hi! I've been around Etsy a little while, but it is getting serious here in little D. I'm excited about the Holiday season for sure and hope to have my shop in ship shop shape.

My goals:
-To add two new sections to my shop including ornaments and heart sculptures
-To continue to improve my photography, and try to include some holiday props in featured designs
-To stay true to the stories my sculptures tell, no matter how many of them that I make
-To increase the amount of sculptures in my shop to 50

Guess I better get to work. :-)

Re: Placeholder

My goal is to hit 100 sales by Christmas. I just opened my shop 2 months ago and have 23 sales. Maybe 100 is a bit high to hope for, but that is my goal. I also plan to keep making more jewelry and add some more holiday earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

Re: Placeholder

I have only been on Etsy a few weeks. I have been making and selling my Ratz sporadically throughout the years since their inception in 1999, but now is the time to get down and dirty, so my goals for this Holiday season are:

Get at least 25 products into my shop, including some new designs.
To get all the photos as recommended for every item.
Have at least 5 sales by the end of the year.
Participate in as many workshops as possible.
Keep the faith.

I've been on etsy a while but only opened my shop a little over a week ago. I have only just made one sale, so I'm hoping to sell 20 bracelets by the end of the year.

Hello!
My name is Ashley and I make cute polymer clay charms. My shop has been open since December 2013 but I didn't know much since I was a newbie.
I don't have many sales, I'm a few away from 40 but I'm working on it!

My goal this holiday season is to reach at least 60 sales. Yes, I know it's a huge leap but I'm hoping I can reach it!

Holiday supplies are ordered! Now, I am making as much as I can for local Holiday shows.
My goal is to gracefully survive my first Holiday Season on Etsy and to receive at least 3 positive reviews.... I'll be ramping up on Customer Service this season. I would like to gain 50 more followers to the shop by the end of this season, and make at least 15 more sales before New Years.

Hi, I'm Shannon! :) I make handmade soaps that are focused on fun and interesting design. Everything I do is far from boring, I love colors and I love going out of my way to please people.

My goal for the holiday season is to start making steady sales, but before that I'd like to be able to put out many more gift sets and offer holiday wrap. I would also love to do more craft shows, right now I have my first lined up and I'm hoping that goes well!

Re: Placeholder

Hello! My name is Britney. I've been here for only about a month. I still know little about e-commerce business. My shop has only 4 listings so far and they all are totally different kinds of item. I'm not sure if I should sell only 1 or 2 certain kind of product or it can be various other kinds too. This is why I don't have many listings. Is it practicable if I list instant download photos and vintage items as main products but also a few others not belonging to these 2 main types?

Re: Placeholder

Well, I reached my goal of two more sales! It was at my yard, or garage sale. Still counts! New goal - create and list two more items before cut off for international posting.
Thanks for keeping me going, Etsy Success Team. I have 'given it all up'
many times.

Re: Placeholder

Brittney - go for it. The more listings, the more your reach in search. You will find your niche as you go along.
To make your shop appealing, use a consistent background. You could visually organise your shop by using the same background for each section of your shop eg vintage, homecooked.

I just opened last month but I have 2 goals, 1 to get the rest of my flower clips listed and 2 to get 10 sales by the end of the year. I already have one sale so I just need 9 more.

I've been selling on Etsy since 2007, but had this particular shop since 2011 -

my 2014 holiday goal is 1,000 etsy sales by jan 1 2015!

Big goal, but hopefully I can make it! I remember when my first Etsy Success Goal was 100 sales :)

Re: Placeholder

I would really like to see my first sale! I have been on here for 2 months and it would make my day to get at least one sale. If I could get 10 sales before the New Year that would be AMAZING! But I wish everyone good luck. It can be challenging at times but I know each one of you has the drive to do well or else you wouldn't be on Etsy or on this thread. You are all great! Keep it up. Don't give up!

Re: Placeholder

My goal, since I just joined Etsy in October, is to get my first sale. So mostly this will be a learning experience for my first holiday season. I am trying to soak up everything I can from wherever I can but I am going bonkers with everything to know and do. So I decided to take it slow and easy for the next several months and not get too caught up in the rush. I have a lot of other images to put up on my site as well.

Re: Placeholder

I only recently started selling handmade jewelry (mainly minimal wire wrapped crystal necklaces) on Etsy. I'm very new to selling in general, and not quite sure what to expect for my first holiday season? Hopefully I'll be smiling by the end of it!
