Pintrest, Does it work?

I've noticed the new pin button, and looked around the site some. Does it do anything for your shop though?

We get a few views from it, but so far no sales.

However, I've been pinning long before it was added to Etsy ;) I may or may not be slightly addicted to it lol

I got about 90 hits from pinterest the other day and narrowed it down to one particular item. The item did sell that day but I can't say 100% sure that thats where the buyer came from.

It's another window to your shop and it's free so for what it is, yes it does work.

So can you pin things from your own shop? I joined Pinterest recently, but have no idea what I'm doing. And I've even gotten followers, which makes me laugh, because I haven't done anything with it yet.

You can pin from your own shop. As part of the guidelines they request you keep self promotion to a minimum.

Personally I've gotten only a few views from Pinterest, but like the others find it totally addictive.

It brings views into my shop but not as many as etsy, etsy lush or facebook.

No direct sales.
But it is FREE folks!

I had one or two views listed as pinterest, no sales. It is just fun to do and not really meant to promote your shop.

I had someone contact me that saw my work on pinterest who wanted to do a commission. I also get a few views from it daily. I don't use it for self promotion but I am not afraid to pin things I am especially proud of.

I have had very few views on my products, but my pins get a lot of pinning! Soft selling works for some I guess! But I love the site!

I've been pinned etc. and will see over time but so far I only get 1 or 2 views to my site.

I am getting some views, but what's driving me crazy is that people repin my items saying things like "I can make these!" So basically they hope to copy my designs, which is naturally kind of frustrating. Has anyone noticed this?

4 items that I pinned from etsy this week have sold from pinterest, so yes, it does work

It's hard to say for sure if someone has purchased anything because of pinterest without asking them & then actually getting an answer, but i have been getting about 10 views a day sometimes more & one customer did convo me before purchasing my roses to ask a question & mentioned that she saw them on pinterest & couldn't stop coming back to them. So I've gotten at least one from it. Maybe more. who knows?

Been on pinterest for a while and pinned many things, from my shop and others on etsy, as well as from the internet. I can see the pins under my profile.
BUT None of my pins show up in the search. I did have descriptions on them - so they should technically show up in searches.
Does anyone know why they are not showing up.
If I cannot find them in a search, no one will.
My views from pinterest are just a few, and this might be why.
Any suggestions?
