Pinterest dumbo needs help...

Hello,

I've just joined Pinterest but my 'pinning' doesn't seem to be working. If I try to pin a new item or re-pin something, the box appears, says it's pinning/re-pinning but then it stops. When I go to look at my pins, there's nothing there. My likes seem to be working but that's it.

Am I doing something wrong?

Do you include your pin's onto appropriate board's? it may take a few second's to appear it should work!

Have you tried to sign out and then to login again? Sometimes Pinterest admin are updating or working on stuff.

Whenever I'm experiencing issues on Pinterest, I go check their FB page. They are pretty good at keeping you posted on what they are working on.

I hope you get pinning soon, because it is so much fun and very addictive.

Any general advice for figuring Pinterest out? It seems to be the coolest thing on everyone's mind, but I see it as a chaotic universe. I haven't even really tried to figure it out. Just looking for general ideas. Is is totally tied into Facebook, or what?

I've worked it out and am now an addict!

IT'S MENTAL! Talk about increasing views, mine have just jumped by 100 in the last 30 minutes since I've been on. Crazy stuff - anyone who hasn't tried it should!

Just join and start pinning your wares then watch them spread out into the Pinterest universe!

Pinterest looks awesome; I sent in an invite request but am on the waiting list. Is it true that you can invite people? It would be great if someone could invite me!

I don't know about the invite. It took me a few days to be "accepted" (kind of creepy and weird, but maybe just logistical), so hold tight Amanda.

I've just seen some pins that have price ribbons on them. Does anyone know how you do that?

The price ribbons are from using the "pin it" button from the etsy listing. If you use the pinterest toolbar it doesn't show up.

I would like to know how people get the Pinterest pins on the front page? Is it because they are pinned on a lot?

I just joined Pinterest this week and love it! I can try and send some invites since that is a much faster way to join. If anyone needs one just send me a convo with your e-mail address.

You can put the price on any item you pin (not just your own, but things from catalogues etc), just type the price with a dollar sign into the description :)

Has anyone had any problems with Pinterest search, where no matter what I search for it only gives me two boards and the thing at the bottom is saying it's getting more boards, but more boards never come up? Also I only get one page worth of whatever I search for. I requested help and even tweeted them and they haven't answered yet. That was yesterday. :( My new addiction is not so much anymore.

I'm not in love with their search either. But on the other hand, I am not real specific with what I say about my posts either (as many others as well.) Sometimes the search box isn't even there!

I'm not sure, but I think that pins are current. There are so many users that when I pin something and go to see it, there are many others already posted since (and that's just what's on my "circle".

At any rate, I love pretty pictures and can't get enough!!!!!

Is it considered kosher to pin one's own stuff? I always treat it like a treasury and pin OTHER people's things....

Just wanted to add, if you want to add price ribbons you can add them to any pin, whether or not you use the pin it button on etsy.

you just type $45 or whatever the price is and it adds the ribbon automatically.. just make sure the $ is only touching the numbers, it won't work if it's touching letters.

to get on the 'front page' of pinterest - the 'front page' (I assume you mean when you click 'everything' on pinterest) is just a feed based on what's been recently added. the 'popular' section is just that, the most popular/most repinned/etc posts on pinterest at that moment.

If you have a FB account then you do not need to be invited, or if you have a twitter. THats how I got in on it. I have a fb.
