I have been adding some additional sizes to some of our vinyl designs. Yesterday I added a smaller size to one so now there are two sizes. It was a design I have on my Etsy shop Pinterest board. Then I get an email from Pinterest telling me that the price on one of my pins was reduced by 24%! What worries me is that this is not true! The smaller size is cheaper but the original size is still the same price.
When I was adding the smaller size in variations I really wanted the larger size to remain the first choice so I moved the smaller size to the second choice but when I saved it and published it the smaller was the first choice. Is there any way I can control the way the sizes are lined up?? Am I missing something??
I don't know, but I get many more views from Pinterest since I stopped putting prices on my pieces. That might not solve your problem on etsy, but at least on pinterest.
I didn't realize not showing the price on Pinterest was an option! It always just shows up when I pin my listing. I like Pinterest and get traffic from it so want to continue with it just don't want to be misleading someone about a price reduction when there really isn't one. How do I make sure the price is not showing up on my pins?? Thanks everyone.
I always remove the price when pinning - whether it is my own item or someone else's . . . I totally understand that prices go up over the years due to material costs (several of my own have) - and don't want to mislead anyone.
Melissa - when the description shows up after you click the 'pin' button on Etsy - just edit it to say whatever you want - or just delete the price
Excellent thinking crochetgal! Why didn't I think of that? I didn't realize you could delete the price. But I discovered today that when I raised some prices earlier they did not raise on Pinterest. Another reason for deleting the price before pinning.
You can also edit the pin after the fact to remove the price. Just hover over it and click on the edit (pencil) icon and then you can revise your description, remove the price etc.
I was worried about prices not changing. Now that you mention that Melissa, I think I'm going to go back and remove all the prices :p
Thanks for all of the feedback/suggestions everyone. I'm going to remove my prices as well on all of my items on Pinterest. I had a similar thing happen to me as well Melissa with price changes that I did not make. I was concerned that someone might have hacked into my Pinterest account initially.
