Picture advise?

My camera broke before i opened my store, so I've been having to rely on an iphone 4 (no flash). I live in a dark apartment, and it's hard to get enough light to shoot. I've edited them as much as I can to make them brighter, but I'm worried that my pics won't be good enough to get me many sales. Any advice?

Re: Picture advise?

Well they are better then I was thinkin from your description :)

Take them outside. Use some natural light and you should be ok.

Really the only issue I have with your images is the backgrounds. They are really busy and distracting from the items. To be honest I probably wouldn't bother to click on your images in a search because of that. Change to a neutral background and your images will look hundred times better! In my opinion of course! Cool products though!

Re: Picture advise?

You can take pictures outside when there is no sun. It works perfectly.
Try to use white background, and also make closeup photos in addition to what you have. They suggest to fill all the 5 spots with photos, which I personally find to be a lot of work.
But people need to see all the details before they decide to buy.

Re: Picture advise?

I also think the backgrounds are distracting. Etsy tends to like white plain backgrounds. Your pictures are not as bad as you think but use natural light to brighten them up. They look better than mine and I have an $800 Nikon! Maybe I should switch to my iPhone.

Try this link if you want to make a photo box, I just made one and did some test shots the other day, it made a world of difference in the brightness of my photos:

Re: Picture advise?

Thanks for the ideas I'll be trying out making the light box for sure :) And they looked much worse before I edited them. I think the charms were the worse. They are much more colorful in person than most of the pics.
