Picnik is closing :(

Did anyone else get the email this morning about Picnik's closing? Makes me sad. It's my favorite editor. None of the other services out there quite compare for me. But I guess I'll have to end another that comes close. Which alternative do you suggest?

I did not get an e-mail, but after reading your post I went to their site: http://www.picnik.com/ and found the announcement. They are closing on April 19. I registered with them to use the premium features. I have to contact them and find out about a reimbursement.

It is a shame, because I use picnik all the time. I would be interested in the alternative others may suggest. Thanks for posting.

I use Picasa for very basic editing, it works but not nearly as cool. I will miss picnik!

I literally almost had a panic attack when I logged on yesterday and saw their farewell message....nnnnoooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

I am obsessed with their collages (as anyone knows who looks at my shop haha)

They're giving a full refund for anyone who has signed up for Premium in the last 12 months. And everyone gets to use their Premium features until they close down in April.

That should give us all time to make the transition to something else...even though I'd rather not!

Google is offering a full refund for any premium members. They're issuing the refund, and you don't have to request it.

I recommend GIMP as an alternative. I've got more details in this thread:
