Picassa

I just downloaded the Picassa software because I saw in threads that sellers said they were using this to help with their photos. For anyone familiar with Picassa, is it possible to take a picture and change the background to white? I have created a lightbox....but it is a little haphazard so I am trying to look into other options!

I LOVE Picasa, I don't know how I ever lived without it!

I've never tried to totally change the background colour but when i've used a white background and it's looking a bit dull I change the 'fill light' setting which I find does absolute wonders, even if you click on the auto fix for contrast/colour and 'I'm feeling lucky' buttons it can really make a massive difference and make your background a lot whiter. Plus you can always just click 'undo' if it doesn't go how you want it to, even if you've tried all the buttons; just keep undoing til it's how you want it then save (or save a copy if you want to retain the original).

I tried fotofuze a while back because people said it was great and you could add a white background but I couldn't get on with it at all.

I lighten the background with a highlighting tool on picmonkey.com. It's meant to add highlights to hair, but who follows those rules anyway? :P


I like it because it'll not only lighten the background, but I can control if i'd like to lighten the item as well. Overall, it works out really well with my listing photos. I don't know what I'd do without it, especially since I'm incapable of taking a photo that looks good without being edited.

I love Picasa too. I just lighten and brighten. That's usually enough.
