Photographing scarves

I have a bunch of vintage scarves to sell and was wondering if posting a pic of the entire scarf opened up is something a buyer would want to see. Otherwise it would only be pics of the scarf on a mannequin from different angles.
thanks!

Re: Photographing scarves

I would want to see the whole thing, just to see if there were any holes or condition problems, especially for a vintage product. It may not make the best opening shot, but I'd include it as one of your five photos.

Re: Photographing scarves

I personally would like to see at least one of the scarf opened up along with mannequin shots.

Re: Photographing scarves

agreed, for vintage seeing the whole thing is probably a good idea. maybe you could peg them on a line or hang them rather than laying them flat? i'd probably do a close-up if it's a pattern, a couple on a model - maybe tied in different ways? - and then a whole-thing shot.
