Pending Transaction?

Hey guys, just wondered if anyone has had experience with this before, I got an email during the night from etsy transactions (it appears to be legit) saying:

" We wanted to let you know that you have a pending sale of 1 item.
We're still processing your order and will send you a confirmation email as soon as it's ready.
Do not post this order until it's finished processing. "

Is this normal? I've not had anything like this before and the email hit my inbox about 7 hours ago. There's nothing on my Etsy about having made a sale or having made an incomplete sale. I'm not really worrying about it, I'm just curious.

Hi Kim, I had that happen to me at the beginning of the week. I think it just means that the card payment is taking a little time to be processed. You'll get another email soon to say once it has gone through.

Yes I have had an email like that.
The customer paid via Direct Checkout. I later received another email saying that the payment had gone through successfully and it was now ok to post.

If it is taking a while, why not just contact the customer to let them know you have their order and their payment is pending clearance. You can send them another message when the payment clears and you despatch.

Don't worry about your message though - there is probably loads of xmas shoppers at the mo and etsys checkout is probably struggling to cope. :)
