Paypal Bill Me Later

Does anyone know if we can use Bill Me Later on Etsy? I don't see the option on the payment page of my shop. What payments do you all accept and why? It seems for my small volume that Etsy's checkout would not be cost effective for me but I am certainly open for suggestions. Thanks for any input!

Re: Paypal Bill Me Later

If by "Etsy's checkout" you mean direct checkout, the fees are in line with what Paypal charges.

I accept both Paypal and direct checkout. It's the only payment options I know of on Etsy. My buyers have used both equally.

Re: Paypal Bill Me Later

The only time I've seen Bill Me Later when using Paypal is when I go to checkout, as a buyer, and it shows up on the Paypal site, not the site I'm buying from. It shows up after I log into my Paypal account and verify my payment and address information. I don't know that sellers can offer Bill Me Later as an option for their own shops, I think it's just a service offered through Paypal.

Re: Paypal Bill Me Later

If they use Paypal, they can use Bill Me Later. BML is integrated into PP. So, although you can't advertise that you accept BML, you can by default.

Basically, buyer with BML account chooses PP at checkout. Goes through checkout, when they get to the PP site, BML shows up as an option for payment. Buyer chooses BML, all you see as the seller is "Paid Via Paypal".

I spend a LOT of money on my BML account! LOL Most of my supply vendors take Paypal, and I just bill it to my BML account. Same thing when I was gift shopping on Etsy during Christmas.

Re: Paypal Bill Me Later

Also, I love direct checkout. It's quick, since I started offering it, 75% of my sales go through direct checkout. Many people (especially old school eBayers) have a bad taste in their mouth over Paypal and will not use it (or can't for some other reason, like their insane account verification processes). Anything you sell under $50 through direct checkout is actually a few cents cheaper in fees than if your buyer paid via Paypal, so you keep a little more of your money too.

Re: Paypal Bill Me Later

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! Paypal is offering a "button" to add to your website for bill me later, which is why I asked the question. For some odd reason I checked out what direct checkout would cost me but not paypal. I will look into my options further. Thanks again!

Re: Paypal Bill Me Later

PP Button...is them hoping you where advertise their "credit card" service........lets call it what it is.

As far as etsy, you cant offer that here........they can use it but you can give it as an option. As far as etsy DC vs PP your going to lose about the same really no matter the service that takes your funds.
