Package ideas?

Hey guys! I'm putting together my first package to send out, and I thought it'd be fun and helpful to everyone if we all share exactly how we make our packages unique.

I have pink and purple net drawstring pouches wtih sparkles on, and in with the product I always add a business card with a hand-written thank you.

How do you guys make your packages a little bit extra special? (:

Re: Package ideas?

I usually wrap mine in an old book page with ribbon around it like a little present:) I love when I order things and they are wrapped special...

Re: Package ideas?

I also wrap each item purchase like a gift, including a biz card. I too also love getting items in unique packaging.

Re: Package ideas?

I have a white jewelry box with a square sticker on the front that I emboss in silver with SND in a cursive letter stamp than I tie it with silver ribbon. I also include a buisness card as well as a hand written and stamped thank you card and a 10% off cupon for next time in the bubble mailer.

Re: Package ideas?

For my jewelry shop I put the item in a ziploc bag to protect it from moisture, then wrap it in either tissue paper or kraft paper tied with pretty string. I don't have business cards for that shop so I write a personal thank you on the printed invoice.

I just shipped my first two orders from my card shop this morning. :) The orders were for die cuts and mini cards so I needed to protect them from moisture and keep them from getting bent during shipping. I put the item in a ziploc bag between two pieces of sturdy cardboard. I included a handmade thank you card with a personal note, a business card and another small card with a discount code to my shop. When I start selling full size card sets I'll tie them up with ribbon before inserting the set into the protective ziploc bag.

Re: Package ideas?

I've only sold my knit/crochet items so far and I send out the items in craft paper, tied with some pretty string like a present and tie in my business card to the bow. I also try to include a handwritten thank you note.

I love getting little packages so I've tried to make mine as cute as possible without spending a lot of money.

Re: Package ideas?

I put my crayon rolls and baby wipes in a small brown lunch sack that I stamped "thank you" on. I put a business card inside and use another one when I staple the bag shut. I like to have them in a bag inside the poly mailer and a plastic bag just wasn't the look I was going for. I used the paper bags when I sold them at our area art market this summer. I include a small note card if I know that it's a gift.

Re: Package ideas?

I wrap the item in tissue paper, and include a little tag saying what it and what it is made of if I know it is going to be a gift. Then I include a business card and a 'Thank Ewe' card with a handwritten note to the buyer.

ETA: Congrats on shipping your first package! Very exciting!

Re: Package ideas?

I keep the bee theme going with black and yellow "goodie bags" (my tagline is 'goodies for babies and children'). In addition to the small items in my shop, I throw in a couple tiny trinkets (think those good ol' fashioned Cracker Jack toys), a business card and the invoice with handwritten not and coupon code to encourage repeat business all in the little paper goodie bag. Larger items get wrapped in kraft paper, tied with twine and the goodie bag is placed under the twine. Since all of my items are fabric, I can put it all in a poly mailer and send it on it's way. I'll sometimes use stickers too.

Re: Package ideas?

Most of my orders ship out in boxes slightly smaller then a small priority mail box. I wrap each and every package in wrapping paper. Then I put the label on and it's like getting a present in the mail...

Re: Package ideas?

I put my items into an envelope which I adorn with a red ribbon and a red heart. I then put this in a bubbled envelope so as to assure it will reach the recipient exactly the way I wrapped it.

Re: Package ideas?

WOW!!! I'm so impressed. I've purchased my inventory and am currently creating my site. In the process of taking inventory with pictures and descriptions. The wrapping (hopefully will get orders) sounds like fun. I too love the idea of receiving a gifty.

Re: Package ideas?

I wrap in colorful tissue paper, and write a thank you note on a pretty little piece of paper. It's fairly simple, but still cute, I think.

Re: Package ideas?

Hi everyone,

A while ago there was an article about packaging for the Etsy Success and there is a group on Flickr where we can share our photos: http://www.flickr.com/groups/etsypackaging/

My own packaging is a "fluffy" fabric enclose tied with a satin ribbon, and the gift wrapping is craft paper with bakers twine. In my listings I always include a picture of packaging :)
