PDF Downloads

I want to add PDF downloads to my shop, but don't know where to start. What software, programs and/or equipment do I need.

Is there a team that can help? Thanks

You have to convert the file to the acceptable format. There is a way but it's difficult to explain here. It's best to go to YouTube and search there for videos. Hope you find something suitable.

The newer versions of Word and Open Office have an "Export to PDF", so if you have one of these programs it's worth checking if your version has it. Normally under the "File" menu.

I was going to suggest converting to PDF too. We actually have a program where we can select "print to PDF" as a printer option. My husband is a computer techie so all the programs we use are free. Pretty sure exporting to PDF like Tanya said would do the same thing. I'd include a link to Adobe Acrobat for a free software download in your listing. Just in case the customer doesn't already have it or doesn't have the latest version.

I sell PDFs and it is really really simple.

I scan my image (I hand draw them), then paste the scan into a word document. Then when I save I just click "save as" and select PDF. Then it's done.

All you have to do then is email the, to,your customers after they purchase.

I use a free program called CutePDF to turn Word docs into PDFs. It really IS as simple as doing a "print to" and changing the printer to the PDF program ... which then saves the PDF as a file. Nothing actually "prints."

I sell PDF patterns in my other shop, Jay's Boutique Designs. I design the pattern in .doc form, then save it as a PDF. On the listing, I say that I will email the pattern to their etsy account email address within 24 hours of payment going through. Once I get notified of the payment, I just email the pattern to them! hope this helps :)

Just like Joanne said. I actually do all my work in Photoshop, save it as a JPEG as an 8.5x11 inch file & then open Word, set my margins to "0" and then insert my pictures. After than yu simply save and in the drop down menue choose PDF. Simple!
