286 orders
- 391 items sold!
What I learned:
1. It took 6 months for my shop to pick up! It wasn't till then that I got more than 3 or 4 orders a month.
2. Just before my shop picked up I hit the 150 items listed mark! So list! Don't be afraid to deactivate it if it doesn't work out. I have about 40 items that are expired which will not be re-listed.
3. Multiple price points - I started to get a ton more sells with I started selling stickers. They are inexpensive and easy to package. Sometimes I get orders of just stickers. So great!
4. Be efficient. I think one of the greatest things I could have done is find multiple ways to sell items made from the same materials. I carve blocks that make prints. I have put those prints on paper, stickers and journals. The fact that I can use that one block on multiple items really brings my cost down. I took this a step further and figured there were multiple uses for the tools I use as well. So I not only carve blocks but I make stamps. I added another 80 items to my shop without having to create any new blocks, just being "efficient"
Those are the largest lessons learned.
There were times where I lost motivation but I hung in there. This shop is a marathon not a sprint. I'm looking forward to the future. I need to get better at buying supplies and tracking my budget. I want to continue to develop more "efficient" ideas to make my shop more diverse while staying in the same sort of realm.
