Old inventory

I have a lot of pieces that have been sitting in my shop for a year or longer and I'm not even relisting some of the pieces anymore. I've lowered the prices and advertised them being on clearance on Facebook and Instagram but they still haven't moved. I think I'll have a booth at only one craft sale this spring. I have lots of ideas and supplies for new products but I need to get rid of the old first so how do you move out old inventory to make room for new products.

Re: Old inventory

I've been having the same problem. I tried to move my silk scarves out by doing a clearance sale, but didn't have much luck either. I eventually resorted to listing some of them on Ebay and sold several of them the past few weeks. I let them go for a little of nothing, but I figured that I wasn't getting anything out of letting them sit around and at least I'm getting some money from them to put toward new supplies.

Re: Old inventory

I'm having the same problem. I'm sitting on old inventory and I absolutely hate it. I see new products for my stores, planning on just selling made to order items, I can't do any of it until I sell off old items.

Re: Old inventory

I either keep and use the items myself or I donate them to charity auctions for animal rescue. It gives my shop great exposure and they get some really nice items. I often make a few new items to donate along with them and make a gift basket of themed items that they can make a nice profit on. They, in turn, put my shop info and business cards out at the event, or put my shop name in the program, etc. Everyone wins!

Re: Old inventory

Old inventory is frustrating. I usually either take it apart & use any salvageable parts in new designs OR give it away (to family, friends, or as a donation).

Re: Old inventory

How about retaking your photos and trying to make the items look better?

Re: Old inventory

I have donated a few pieces and will continue to do so. For the rest, I'm going to take them apart and try to sell the charms for supplies.

Thanks everyone for your advice
