Boot camp launches on Thursday! Would you like a partner to bounce ideas off of, give you a hand when you need it, and keep you on track through this year’s Holiday Boot Camp? Connect with on of your Etsy companions, reach out to a member of one of your Etsy Teams, or connect with each other in this forum thread. Let other members of the team know what kind of buddy you would most like to partner with. Are they also a jewelry artists? Or maybe you’re looking for someone who also works with upcycled materials? Or maybe you want to find someone nearby?

Wondering what the Etsy Success Holiday Boot Camp is? More info here:

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

What a brilliant idea - I need a bootcamp buddy also!

I'm excited about the forthcoming holiday season and would love to share my experiences and ideas with a fellow crafter. My thing is wedding clutch bags so I would really like to hear from you if your business is in the wedding or accessory category.

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

I'm looking for a buddy here, too. I've been around Etsy for a while, but only recently really started working on my shop.

I sell handmade things for the kitchen and bath, and am an indie yarn dyer. I also dabble in hair things for grown up girls.

Any takers?

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

I am also looking for a boot camp buddy. I'm brand brand new to Etsy (<1 week!), I make pearl jewelry. I'm also pretty tech savvy and a little grammar-obsessed. I don't have a ton of time for Etsy right now but am really interested in making my shop better (wouldn't it be great to quit my day job).

I'd prefer someone with a decent amount of Etsy experience, and I'm especially interested in exploring new ways of promotion, especially Facebook/Twiiter/etc. Thanks!

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

I would love to to have a Boot Camp Buddy to experience the holidays with. Sharing ideas and new ways to sell our wares. I am a stringer and most of my pieces are beaded but have been working a lot lately with multi-chain pieces. I'm open to new ideas and would love to share mine with someone else as well. Thank you, PK

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

I am new to Etsy. I hope to have my shop up in the next 3 weeks. I am starting with a collection of 10 things (& hopefully adding more for a total of 30+ items by mid november). I am a photographer that hopes to sell polaroids, illustrations and photography based art & the like. I am having trouble pairing down what images I might start out with. I would be interested in a buddy that understands that I am a newbie seller (long time buyer :). And would be willing to listen to stupid questions and share what you know.

I do have a bunch of applicable skills that I bring to the table.
- I am an art director
- Full understanding of color theory
- I am a photographer
- I am an Illustrator
- I know how to design & write all manner of marketing materials such as email blasts, press releases, postcards
- thorough understanding of social media and how to make it count.
- I also have an eclectic arsenal of misc skills like i can build furniture & re-bind books, rewire & other oddities.

It would be great if you were:
- A fan of the typefaces especially Helvetica
- Vintage anything

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

Me too; me too me too rasing hand in the air wildly in the back of the classroom (after 226 posts).... I'm in...

Help - boot camp all the way!
I am the actual poster, writer, administrator and helper when needed.... My son is the creativity - the artist - my gem!

I will work hard - (late in the night) - when he sleeps... on the everything else stuff which is alot!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to be called a computer genious when I worked full time and was able to create Lotus 1-2-3 macro's prior to Excel.... now I'm considered ancient or "antique" or "vintage" if you will!!!!!

I would love to blog about our day in the shop - but the new "easy peasy" language is too hard for me? I need to get a tutorial on the easier way to do things????

OK... still waving wildly (and I do not have to go to the bathroom)... I want to participate!!!!

Sincerely,
Sue O'Mullan for Danny O'Mullan

I am a super duper newbie who needs lots of advice, and help with direction. I have many ideas for the prints that I make but, need some support with where to put my time and effort. I am a SAHM and a WAHM and have lots of motivation, I just want to put it in the "right" places! I would love a buddy who is a bit more experienced and who could help to show me the rope and be encouraging! Please send me a message if you'd like to be my buddy!

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

A buddy would be great! This is a great idea.
I'm a knitter and crocheter. I'm open to work with any artist. This would be my first book camp and I live in the Bay Area.
I know being accountable to someone else would keep me motivated. I'm excited about this holiday season since I have a few craft events coming up so I need to be ready. Not to mention promoting my online business.
Thanks!

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

I love that idea. Yes, please I need a buddy for this boot camp :). I'm SAHM, and have tons of ideas ( thanks to 4 kids) to put into life before the season starts... This is my first year on Etsy, and first holiday season as a seller, it's all new to me but also very exciting, I do LOVE selling my creations. As a rule of thumb I don't sleep between September and the end of December, so it is a perfect time of the year for me :). I would love to have partner who is somehow familiar or related to my craft ( sewing :) ) and sales kid related goods :). And I do have lots of time on computer, during day and night, so seasonal promo can bloom in its best colors :). Please, convo me if you are interested :)

I need a boot camp buddy! I personally upcycle shirts into accessories, but will also start selling as a collective soon. I would like someone who also manages a collective shop.

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

Just like most everyone here... I would LOVE a buddy to keep me accountable this holiday season. This will be my first holiday season with my etsy shoppe open and stocked.

I am a teacher during the day and paper artist at night. I create handmade personalized notecards and frames. I'd like to expand my etsy business and have a presence on FB as well.

My husband and I are hoping to adopt and are using the proceeds from our etsy shoppe to offset our adoption costs. My long term goal would be the ability to create an income that would allow me to stay home once we adopt.

Looking for someone who'd like to bounce ideas about stocking and marketing. Would love it if my buddy also creates with paper as well and also works outside the home in addition to being an etsy artist.

Look forward to learning from everyone this year!

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

I am an uber newbie to all of this. I am a SAHM with millions of ideas running through my noggin. My husband says I am addicted to Etsy, and I am starting to think he is right. But could we please not tell him...I would hate for him to ever know he is right.
I am a Jack of all trades a master of none. At my house I have a slab roller, a kiln, a glass grinder, a paper craft room, a bead closet, a leather sewing machine and all the tools to go with it, and I just recently acquired a whole fabric store that went out of business. Yes...the first step is to admit you have a problem....haha
Now, I just need someone to help me learn how to use my shop to its full potential! HELP PLEASE!!!!!
I promise I will promote you till you think I am stalking you!!!!!! Buwahahaha
What do you say? Just message me!
Jeanie

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

I'm looking for a boot camp buddy, as well. This is my first holiday season as a seller; I've been a crafter for years, but I just started my shop in May (officially launched in June), so I'm still learning as I go. I sew by hand, and my primary medium is felt, though I work with other materials on occasion and as requested. I'd love to find a "boot camp buddy" to bounce ideas off of--and someone that isn't afraid to offer constructive criticism for that which needs criticizing, and be constructively criticized in return! Message me if you're interested and you think you can handle it ;)

Re: Official “I need a boot camp buddy” Thread

I am looking for a boot camp buddy. I did boot camp last year but my time was so limited and I did not seek out a buddy. Not following that same path this year. I sell jewelry made with natural stones, glass, crystals, pewter, and silver plate.

I would like to buddy with someone selling jewelry or accessories. Convo me if you are interested.

This is going to be a GREAT Season!!!
