Hello Team members.
Now and then I search on Etsy for the most used keywords in my shop to see where are my items. Are they showing on first few pages or not.
So I was just searcing for "unique evening bags" (because someone used it to find my items) and I came across a seller who photographs her items (bags) on women naked body. The first thing that crossed my mind was: Is she selling her body or her bags? Is that even allowed on Etsy?

Re: Nudity
Just my pennies worth but I sometimes look through etsy with my young daughter and we have come across some really dodgy rude pics. Whilst I am not a prude I don't really want to subject my daughter to such images and didn't expect to have to sensor etsy as well as the TV, Magazines etc!

Re: Nudity
So I had to look it up too. (You have a point Mallory) It doesn't bother me, it's better than my photos, lol.
Do you think the owner has had a sudden spike in views and is wondering where it came from? :D

Re: Nudity
I think its fairly common theres quite a bit off full boob shots in jewelry listings thats i have seen. It doesnt offend me in any way but i can see where it might shock someone seeing that type of marketing for the first time. Some of it is more tastefully done but again theres a lot of it.

Re: Nudity
When I see a naked woman modelling an item of clothing, all I can think is: I hope the items get washed before they send them to their buyers. I wash my knits before I put them in my photos and model them on a clean dummy or hanger.
Maybe they're marketing to men who are looking for a gift for their wife/girlfriend/mistress.

Mallory Blackwell from ARTWORKbyMALLORY says
It's smart marketing because it got your attention. Not only did it get your attention, it caused you to bring it to other people's attention. And THEN, we all checked out the rest of their shop lol. Whether we like them or not, we are all aware of their brand and now have an opinion about their designs/marketing plan.

Bingo! Because even a negative reaction is publicity. The shop owner created a buzz about their brand.
