Notifying People In Your Treasury

Hi everyone.
A few of my items have been placed in treasuries and most of the time the curator will send me an email, which I think is so thoughtful. I would like to do this for the treasuries I create, is there some sort of short cut? Or do you have to click each item, hit "contact" and shoot the email?

And do you think it's necessary?

Yes, I think it is necessary. I like to know when someone puts me a in a treasury so that i can return the favor and thank them of course. Sometimes I get put in a treasury and don't figure it out until a week later sometimes :( Definately let people know.

I click each item then hit contact, I don't think there is a short cut but if there is someone out there, let us know :)

I always wondered about this but somehow when I make a treasury the featured shops always comment. I thought there was some sort of automatic notice they get. It would be better to set up a a personal message but not sure how it works.

It says in your circle when someone has added you to a treasury. I would imagine it might be hard to miss if you have a bunch of people in your circle posting all the time.

I haven't notified others of treasuries but whenever mine my shop is in one I get notified right away.

I don't want to bother people if they get notified right away.

Krystal- exactly. At first I wasn't in a lot of circles, so I saw every notification. I've been really active in adding people to my circle, so my notifications are in the 200's!

I just shot an email to everyone like lisa said and it didn't take too long! Hope its not annoying, but oh well!

I always notify people. I have missed them in my circle activity feed in the past.

I don't find it annoying..I think it is a general courtusy. Liked being thanked for opening the first door for someone...and the second door..

some of my items have been in treasuries where the person didn't notify me. Then of course I had to do some backwards checking to figure out which item and what treasury. Definitely notify the person.

You are informed in your activity feed that your item was listed in the Treasury. Sometimes, I will get emails from the curator as well.
I always notify the curator by thanking and commenting on the Treasury. It takes a long time and effort to put a Treasury together. They like to hear from the people they featured in their Treasury. The themes and colors on some of the Treasuries are so pretty. Etsy lists ways for people to shop. One of the ways is through Treasuries. Who knows, that Treasury can make the FP and the exposure for your item can generate a lot of views or even sales. It can also be viewed by people who have big circles if they favored that Treasury list. It is like a network tool to drive people to your shop.

I used to dread sending those messages, however, after treasuries I've been featured in were lost in the activity feed (and some plainly just did not show up due to, I am guessing, time limits of the feed), I started liking those convos very much (sending them and receiving them)

Personally, I don't need the emails informing me I'm in a treasury. I purposely keep my Circle small enough to manage so I see this in my Activity Feed. I assume people will see that I've added them to a Treasury as well. I don't include people in Treasuries as a favor or because I expect it to be reciprocated. I do so because I like their products.

I tought if I add an item to my treasury, the shop owner will be automatically receive a notification mail from etsy ^^;; I will make sure to send them a notification mail from now! :) Thanks for the info!

I always send a notification message, and appreciate getting a note when someone includes me in their treasury, that way I can help promote it.

The only shortcut I've worked out is to set up a message template that I cut and paste into the sixteen messages I send.

It takes less than five minutes to notify everyone and it really helps to get more views, so everyone benefits.

If you join shop stats beta you'll get notified of treasuries you've been added to each day in your stats. It's great. I haven't been sending convos, too time consuming, but I do plan on looking into Shmetsy with has the shortcut to message everyone at once.

I used schmetsy for a while but I got fed up with seeing their adverts so removed it.
what's shop stats beta? I've just looked at my stats, I don't see anything about beta

I always notify the seller when I feature one of them items. I just cut/paste the same message to everyone. Takes less than a couple of minutes. I also like to be notified when someone adds me to a treasury in case I miss it in my Circles update. I like to promote the treasuries I'm in so it's nice to know when I am. :)

I am thinking I should send the messages because I have been in a treasury or two and didnt know. Also, there are some shops I have featured and they don't comment so I always wonder. Havent done it yet but will I think in the future. Thanks for the thread, helpful discussion! Trish

I try to follow my feed on a regular basis and catch all of the treasury features. However, there are times I'm away from my computer and can't keep up. I always appreciate a convo letting me know that my item was featured!

I then tweet that treasury and/or post it to my facebook page to brag a bit for being included and promote the curator. I also use shmetsy.com as Susana suggested in an earlier reply.

I have been in a few treasuries, and it's always appreciated when I am notified by the curator. In appreciation for the curator's hard work, I always leave a thank you comment and what I love about the treasury. I think it only works in the curators favor to notify the sellers they feature - the sellers usually promote those treasuries on twitter, etc. as well. That can only mean more traffic for you! :D

It notifies people automatically when you add their items to your treasury. Why would you send them a convo also?

i like getting convo's about being featured. it's easy for things to get missed in the activity feed! my circle is not that big and i still manage to lose track here and there so the convo's are nice!

I agree with Susana - somehow I've missed a few here and there. I am always so disappointed and embarassed to comment, fave and stumble a week later.
Haven't been on Etsy a full year yet, but when I started, I just didn't think to do it. I know better now. Also, it gives me a chance to let the seller know that I liked something about their item or their shop. I consider it part of making and promoting a treasury.

Yeah, a lot of my Treasury notifications have been getting lost in my feed. I randomly came across a treasury I was featured in and felt horrible b.c i never knew! thanks for the input everyone!
