I've noticed some Etsy sellers that have added me to their newsletter after I purchased something from them. I don't mind it. I wonder how everyone else feels. I Is that allowed? If so, I'm thinking of adding people that have purchased from me to my newsletter.
I always ask first. I ask the buyer if he/she wants to be included in my monthly newsletter, some of them say yes, others don't answer. I've read that it's against the rules to send emails without asking permission.
Yes, it's considered spam in Etsy world. In the rest of the world, CAN-SPAM regulations (very complicated) actually do allow vendors to contact someone once there's been a transaction, but Etsy says nix.
