New & would love some input......

Hey everyone! I'm new to this team, and started my shop about a month ago. I am also new to the world of jewelry making, and would love some advice for my shop. I have sold about a dozen pairs of earrings off my Facebook Fan Page, but have not made a single sale through Etsy.

I do realize that some of my pictures need to be changed! I was using my very old and very poor quality camera for my first few items, and have since upgraded and am working on re-shooting everything.

I would love some feedback, suggestions, or comments! Are my prices too high or low? Are my descriptions lacking?

Thank you all for any help you can throw my way :-)

Hi,

I think your jewelry is very nice. I'm no expert as I am working very hard to make it here too. Your photos do need work and I'm thinking you need more inventory which takes time. From your avatar I thought I would see very simple, minimalist jewelry, instead yours is very ornate. A banner and avatar that reflected the style of your jewelry might help bring things together.

Re: New & would love some input......

Hi, SButterfly. I just glanced at your shop, and a few things jumped out right away. Your jewelry is lovely, but some of your titles and tags need work. Some of your titles are creative, but it's unlikely your item would come up in a search. Ex: your Secret Garden hoop earrings. There are several places on Etsy--handbook, forums, etc., that give wonderful guidance on titles and tags. Also, TangledMetal (Eric) has a blog that has addressed this topic, and you should find the link in his shop. Good luck to you!

Thank you! I am working on taking new pictures of everything and trying to lighten things up. I will take a look at TangledMetal's blog post as well! There is so much to learn about Etsy!

I really appreciate your input Charlene & Disco! Thank you!

Re: New & would love some input......

I agree about your titles needing work. Also, I don't think your profile photo or your banner reflect what you are selling.

Don't forget: network, advertise, promote.

Re: New & would love some input......

1. I also agree about your tiles and tags. Your listing won't be searched with these title.
I hope this article helps.

2.Photos.
Your photos are bit dark and you might want to try different background.
This would help.

3.Branding.
You might want to brand your business with right banner, logo and business card. Let me know if you need help.

Re: New & would love some input......

Thanks Azuilt & Sunny! I started selling off my FB page first before Etsy, and didn't know that there was such a HUGE difference between the branding. I will be work to fix this ASAP!

Re: New & would love some input......

Hi SButterfly, and welcome!

I agree with everything above- work on titles and tagging before anything else! Then your banner and avatar, and last your photos (I don't think they're so bad!). All that'll be left to do after that is to promote yourself like CRAZY!!!
Sounds like you've already got a head start on that with your FB page :)
Keep in mind that jewelry is an extremely saturated market, and we all have to hustle just to get ourselves seen. Get your name out everywhere you possibly can. I have no doubt that you're going to have great success- your pieces are really lovely!
Best of luck to you!

http://www.etsy.com/listing/81790024/flamenco-skull-earrings
ok so, these amazing earings have a tag like this;
Jewelry, Earrings ,Beaded, Spanish, red, black, cluste,r earrings, skulls, Sugar ,Skulls, Dio De Los Muertos, Halloween ,
If I were to look fr these earrings I would google words like;
Day of the dead earrings, skull earrings' red earrings' skull bead earrings, ect
take advantage of short phrases so people can find you... ps Love your photos.. simplify them so they feature your beautiful jewelry!
pps... Etsy doesn't do Spanish yet ;-)
