New items advice please.

As some may have noticed I've been in the middle of doing a shop/brand make over. Creating a new name, to use for both my shop and my blog. As well as redoing a lot of my photographs for the listings (still in progress) I'm also trying to figure out what I should spend more making, Type of jewelery and such.

I would love to get your opinion. What of my products do you like the most? What would you like to see more of in the shop? Take a look and see what you like. Take a look at for sale and sold items perhaps to see what I should bring back.

Thank you so much I can't wait to see what you have to say.

I think your pictures look good! You have a lot of great items. I would work with the banner, though. It doesn't look very professional. Good luck :)

What would you say is wrong with it? I was hoping to have something to go with the current selling season.

Re: New items advice please.

I have to agree on the banner. The images are squished, it looks like it was forced down to a size that didn't fit it's original proportions.

I like what you have for sale in your shop. I especially liked the hair sticks. I noticed those hadn't sold though so maybe it's just me... I'm always sticking pens or brushes in my hair so I liked that idea. I think it might help to show them on a model if you have someone available that could help you with that. I also noticed a couple of the pictures in that listing had a soft focus on the beads. You mentioned you were working on retaking pictures so maybe just keep that in mind when you are doing them.

Re: New items advice please.

Yeah when I went back to look at the banner I noticed it. I'm working on it now. I had made it and put it up when i was pretty tired so i must not have noticed how bad it looked.

And the hair sticks. I've only redone two of them for pictures. the red one I haven't gotten to just yet. And thank you for the advice of a model. I just have to see if i can find someone willing to help me out with that. ^_^

Re: New items advice please.

Photos look great , some of your items have amazing wire work , maybe take a few close ups of those as the main photo so shoppers can see the non traditional work to separate you from others :)

Re: New items advice please.

I like the banner now, much better! I would suggest making more rings.. I love them! It is just a personal opinion. And I saw some rings on your sales that I liked. I like when sellers do adjustable rings, because I have tiny fingers and I can never find one that fits.

Another thing I can tell you is this: I looooooove when I go in a shop where all the pictures are cohesive. They are taken on the same or similar backgrounds, and with the same light. I think this makes for a very professional shop and it always looks amazing. This is the only thing I would say you can improve, because some of your pictures are dark, some have very different backgrounds, etc. I really hope this helps!

Re: New items advice please.

I'm glad I was able to fix the banner, Thanks. And yes I completely agree. Like i mentioned in my initial post I'm working on the photos. As you can see from the more recent items they all have been photographed with the same clean background It will take a bit to finish the rest as I do have 61 items in the shop. But I'm getting there ^__^

Re: New items advice please.

i like the pics with the stark white background way better than the ones with the varying backgrounds:
take this one for example:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/102281748/wire-wrap-earrings-ocean-blue-earrings
that´s a very good photo, you can see the item very well and the white background makes it pop out very well as opposed to this one:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/114166692/garnet-and-pearl-earrings
here you cannot really see anything, it´s too small.
this one is way too dark and the item is too small:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/115889285/swarovski-crystal-and-fwp-wire-wrapped
i would never open the description of the listing because if i cannot see on the first photo what the item looks like, then i´m not interested. put it on one of those model hands and take pics of that and then give it a nice white background. have you tried fotofuze???

Re: New items advice please.

oh if you ask me what to produce more of, i´d go for the wire wrapped earrings. i like them most. they are simple yet interesting and can be worn every day as they are not too big

Re: New items advice please.

Most of the stark white backgrounds i got from photofuze and personally it made most of the pictures look worse. Causing them to be blurry or just look plain horrible. I've had to completely redo listings because of it. I would not suggest photofuze to anyone. As you can see with the pearl and garnet earrings it is a crapy picture. The two wire wrapped earrings i have (like that blue one you pointed out) were the only ones that really came out looking good.

And thank you for your thoughts about the wire wrap earrings. I do plan to make more of them but I am currently out of wire to make them with. >.< Next time i can get myself to the craft store I'll be getting more though.
