New and need help!

Hey all. I have had my shop for a little over a year and just got serious this fall when I introduced my eclectic pumpkins. I have added about 100 items this month alone and am interested in seeing where i can go to be seen more. I am on promoted listings, fb, pinterest, etc. I know that things take time, but the items that I am selling are strictly for this time of year, and I am a liitle frustrated that I am not seeing more traffic. I offered a coupon, adjusted my prices, and respond back to ppl that favorite my item. What am I doing wrong? TIA

Thats funny about the responses, because I was told to respond to the favorite items by someone from Etsy's headquarters while I was discussing something on the phone with them.

Still new here, what is SEO? and what do I do with it?

Re: New and need help!

SEO is search engine optimization. It's what you do in order to be seen by the search engines (like when people look for snowmen you want to show up towards the beginning of the search results), because those are the people who are more likely to buy your items. They are actually looking for what you are selling.

If you go into teams and do a search for SEO relevancy, there's a great team run by Cindy Lou that has tons of useful information. Just remember to look at the recency of the posts some of them are very old and don't 100% apply anymore.

Re: New and need help!

Megan, this is the SEO team Melissa mentioned:

You might also keep in mind that Google has announced that they'll only be displaying products on white/light colored backgrounds. If you'd like to continue getting views from Google shopping, you might want to consider changing your backgrounds.

Pumpkins do seem to me to be a pretty seasonal decor item. Perhaps expanding your SEO to include other seasons/decor possibilities.

This team has an excellent self-critique checklist that may also help:
