New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

thank you, thank you!!
no more loosing potential sales because something wasnt immedietly renewed, duplicate listings, or 3rd party apps... finally able to just list more than 1 available WITHOUT being charged to renew the remaining quantity that hasnt sold. here's a big high-five to etsy admin!

thank you for always making things a bit easier..

It's awesome but it's not open to everyone yet. It's getting rolled out.

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

Most of what I make is unique, so I don't have multiple listings, but i can see how it would be great for sellers with multiples.

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

I make plenty of one of a kind items as well due to limited availability of supplies (I'm able to buy some beads in small quantities and make only one of a particular item).

But there are items I can make quantities of, and I will be taking advantage of that!

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

I agree!! I'm so happy they decided to change this! I wasn't really as concerned about paying the 20 cents per each quantity. But I really hated how I never got to renew after a sale if I had multiple quantities of the same item listed - it seemed to really hurt sales. Getting that renew after each sale is going to be great for my shop!! THANK YOU ETSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

My sales come in waves. I might have 3 people order the same tie and then not have anyone order it for months so something like this is great for me.

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

I usually cut enough fabrics and such for 2 - 4 items and make them and they sit... this is great!

I'm happy about this new feature too--for the supplies I sell. Especially when I can't get something relisted right away...

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

I can NOT wait to get that update in this shop. *excited*

I don't really need it in my other two shops, but it would be a huge help to me to have it in this one.

I am still not clear. Is an Etsy auto renew going to move my item closer to the front of the search like it does now even with the new relevancy program or does everything stay where it is and you still have an active listing? One of the reasons I didn't do multilples of one listing was to be able to renew and have the placement in a search change.

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

heres a super helpful illustration from etsy on how it works
http://www.etsy.com/help/article/2552

from what i understand, renewing would be the same as it was before, and isnt affected by what quantity you have. Etsy just nixed the fees until the items sells.

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

@PureRoxInPrint .. its not "auto" renew, just adding more quantiies so when one of the items sells, the listing is still acitve for others to buy from the quanity left.

etsy's relevancy changes take priority of renewing in the search anyway so i dont think theres any effects there..

right everyone?

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

I have bee waiting for this! I am unclear as to whether the auton renew is the same as a regular renew- ie will the item be higher up, eg in searches by recency and also in categories....

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

it is awesome! i wish they would go one step further and make all listing fees of $.20 due once the item sells. so i get to list for free all my items and continuously renew for free but then i pay $.20 once it sells.... lol!
but i suppose they may not make as much money that way!

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

I wish that they would say how long it is going to take to "roll out" the changes. A week...a month...a few months.... I'm excited to try it, but I don't want to update any quantities until it gets rolled on over to my shop!!

Re: New Quantity Update- best idea ever!

I'm still a little confused: I sell pdf patterns so I've always listed 2 available so if I'm not around to renew (in the middle of the night for example) the pattern is still available for another customer. Then I renew the next day to always keep the quantity at 2. I will still need to do this but I won't be charged for the 2nd item until it sells? I hope someone can help clarify, thanks :)
