Need some help... views are so low and it's Cyber Monday!

I am a bit mystified at the moment. I didn't really know what to expect this weekend and had been getting a bit higher then normal views (I usually range 10 - 20 views a day, which is way low), and I was getting 30 - 60 over the weekend. Today, being Cyber Monday, I thought my views would be much higher but I only have 16 right now and no sales all weekend.

Could you guys help a girl out and give some honest opinions and critiques to help my shop be successful?

Thanks in Advance!

First, I love the name of your shop! Your photos are beautiful, and the look of your entire shop has a nice feel to it.

I've read in forums and teams that if you want to be seen and to sell, you should have between 80 - 100 items in your shop. I don't know if that's true - I only have 62 right now. But I don't have that many sales either, so maybe there's something to it.

Also, I'm not big on social media, but it can really help. So, that might be the next thing to try. I wish you luck!

This is my first Cyber Monday on etsy but I'm thinking that folks are spending online time on other websites, going after the big ticket electronics and appliances and such (things you'd find at Office Max, Best Buy, Sears, et al.) to take advantage of free shipping and sales. Those places typically send out a ton of advertising, lol! Also, maybe people are just plain shopped out after prowling malls all weekend. For those reasons, I really have no big expectations for today, although in the days approaching Christmas, perhaps sales will gain some steam in general.

Love your shop and the name Traci. Hey in there, it takes a little while for a new shop to start getting sales. Just drive your business and sales by doing lots of self promotion. Try the Shop Ads, facebook and twitter. Tell all your family and friends to talk about you and send out your link in their emails.

Good Luck, and Happy Holidays.

Certainly use outside sources to promote your work, such as facebook, twitter, pinterest, a blog and sites like etsycoupon.com This will help you get more sales, as well as joining teams and making treasuries.

With twitter, use hashtags (#) for key words that represent your work that you believe your target market would be using to look for items like yours. If you also use a sales promotion on a day like this, it may help timid customers to take the chance to buy your products :)

Traci,

I just wanted to say that your shop is so beautiful! Your photos are great and the items are lovely. We haven't had many sales yet, so I don't have any good advice that would help. We aren't very active with social media, so maybe that does help with sales. I wish you all the best!

Re: Need some help... views are so low and it's Cyber Monday!

Thanks everyone,

I have been using Facebook to post my new items, twitter (although I really don't get this one... just learning about hashtags), Wanelo, Craftori, pintrest. I don't get really any traffic from these. I do need to go back to my blog but I don't really know how to get more followers. I guess that takes time as well.

I guess just keep on keeping on? I have a couple of projects that I just finished knitting and need to take photos and list. I am hoping to get up to 50 items this week and then move on from there. I just raised my prices for some of my neck cowls from what other team members have advised. I am in the process of raising my prices on my other items. But this kind of freaks me out a little.

Traci - I wouldn't worry about the freakout factor of raising your prices. I didn't get a 2nd sell until after raising mine. And no one has balked at them.

As for social media? I'm not a fan, but what can you do? It has driven very little traffic to our store. Most of our traffic comes from etsy search or google. I have very little patience when it comes to fb, twitter, blogging, etc. But I guess it is something you have to do.

Re: Need some help... views are so low and it's Cyber Monday!

Most of my views have been coming from various teams. I had thought initially that views were down but then took an inventory of different promo teams I'd been to this weekend and realized it wasn't as much as I'd initially thought... so my views, I'd say, are better than I thought, and it's a direct result of sharing my work and being active throughout teams.

I've only had a couple of views from searches and they're attributed to my "Free Shipping Etsy" tag instead of "Cyber Monday Etsy".

Beautiful shop by the way! Hearted you! :)
