Need critiques on my blog!

I just began my new blog a few weeks ago and I'm open to all suggestions you can offer to help my blog out! I posted a how-to video on how to re-purpose plastic bags today so come check it out!

I think it's an excellent start. I'd love to see a more personalized header though - maybe am image with the title. I also found the text, while fun to look at, a little hard to read. And are there supposed to be photos with the feature of the week? All I see are gray boxes. Good luck. I'd appreciate any constructive criticism on my blog as well. http://www.soapdelinews.com

Soapdeli: You have such an amazing blog I can't think of a single thing you should change, I really appreciate everything you had to say. I just went in and pretty much changed the whole entire thing around. I'll be working on a custom header soon, I'm trying to rack my head around my branding strategy , and how anyone is every going to remember the my user name.

oh and, do you still see the gray boxes?, they should be fixed now.

Hi Teslas90, I think you are off to a good start. The gray block behind the posts easily silence the background. However, the semi-translucent gray around does make for challenging recognition of block of white copy ie. your mini bio. And your writing is enjoyable to read. I've been working on my blog since last November and there are still things I keep 'tweaking':-) Stick with it.

Teslas, I think your blog is off to a great start! I love that background! And your "plarn" how-to is awesome. :) I agree with soapdeli that a more personalized header, perhaps one that matches with your store header, would be great. And again, your animals are so cute!

MsVeronicas: I'm working on tweaking the semi translucent background. I like it for some aspects, but for others (like around the mini bio) I hate it!
I'm not good with html, and I doubt I'll be able to fix it exactly the way I want, but I'll keep trying.

Yes, I see the images now! Fun stuff. I love the new background. That is super cute! I think the fun and funky font looks better for the blog article titles and keeps it fun while then having a "normal" font for the actual article makes it easier to read. I look forward to following you!

I've tweaked and retweaked my blog a thousand times myself. It never seems quite right and I keep thinking I have to fix things. Add more, add less, move this, delete that. LOL

I think it looks great. I agree that you should match your header with your shop. In fact, my blog (which has nothing to do with my etsy shop) was the inspiration for my header on etsy. Not really because they are related but because I found it stood out and was memorable.

I am a new follower via GFC. You'll find me as "Kaye" on there.
