Need advice... :(

I received 2 orders in one day 2/29 and was super excited. That night I finished both orders and was just waiting till in the morning to ship them when my baby girl woke up yesterday with an awful stomach virus... Couldn't get to the PO. Then 2am, this morning my son had it and 9am I caught it. Hopefully I can have my husband drop them off this afternoon, but that would be Friday and my policy says I ship out every Tue/Thur... And it kills me when I don't get it out the next day at the latest.

An I being dramatic and should just ship it out this afternoon and stop worrying about it..
Or should I consider an email to the customers and explain and maybe offer money back or something else...

What would you do?

Just ship it.
Maybe drop them a line or two apologizing for the slight delay due to circumstances out of your control.
Leave it at that...Just ship it today.

I'd leave the part out about the stomach virus hitting your family, though. Sometimes some details are best left unsaid. :) Hope you're all feeling better.

A slight delay (and that's all it is) is no big deal and a quick note/convo as Pearle suggested is perfect.

agree with the above. Send them a quick note letting them know there was a family emergency and that there order is shipping out of Friday.

Perhaps even offer them a coupon code for their next purchase for the delay.

Agree with Janell and Erin & Kevin - not sure they need to know the details of why it's delayed. But I find people are generally very understanding as long as you communicate with them. Just apologize for the delay and tell them you had an emergency, and make sure to include a hand-written note in the package (if you don't already) with a discount for next time. :) No biggie!

Thank you! My husband just got home from work early to nurse us back to health and saw the packages ready to go in the office and asked if I wanted him to take them to the PO *sigh of relief *...

Luckily I already had the items made and packaged before this disaster struck.
So I feel good about that. But I will probably skip that in the email.
