Need Ideas on Promoting an item

Hello Everyone, Im reaching out today to ask for some help with any ideas on how to promote an item from my store. I have been developing this type of jewelry (that connects cut flowers) for almost 2 years now. Unfortunately, theres only one piece ready to sell right now, so my store looks rather empty. I have sold some other pieces in the past, but not in the same flower jewelry genre.. so I am worried prospective buyers will be confused as to what kind of store I am, and be hesitant to buy.

Any ideas for how to approach a successful campaign or strategy would be wonderful. I am already promoting on Facebook, Pinterest, etc. Thanks in advance!

Do you have photos of items you've made in the past besides the one in your shop currently? A website used as a portfolio would be a great way for people to see your creations. Do you have more photos of them being worn? Or being made? Get a picture in your avatar as well. That will entice people to have a look.
Even your other jewellery items can be an entrance into your shop, so don't avoid posting and listing those, as people might see them and follow them into your shop, then accessing your new flower jewellery!
As for promoting the item in your shop, see if you can post it on some websites- art websites, etsy teams, wanelo, facebook, twitter, tumblr, stumbleupon, pinterest. Try websites that address weddings, and try
Could you get some business cards made up using the images of your jewellery?
As someone that has been to a lot of garden shows and fairs, perhaps look into exhibiting at one of them locally. In the UK, they often have a lot of flower related things that gardeners will be interested in, and if someone that loves flowers were to see one at a garden centre or show, they may be inclined to purchase.
Best of luck- it's a lovely idea. I would say weddings would be a really awesome market. How great would it be to have real flowers in your hair or jewellery to match a bride's bouquet? :)

Its tough to assist when you have no items to assist with.

The more items you have in your shop the better to help you. Joining etsy teams is another important aspect of networking your shop. Try to find seller's you respect in your area of expertise and join the teams they belong to.

You have a handful of views and 4 admirers, not bad for just one listing. I agree with the previous posters, more items is key. Shoppers like to come to your page and feel like it is a brand, not just one item. Try cultivating a feel or mood to your shop and offer items that fit in with that. Perhaps a variety of studs that could be sold separately from the main piece? Also, who is your target audience? To me, the pictures and the listing suggest bridal: and pinterest has a great market for that. Help your customer connect with the piece and how they'd use it because it is a very specific item. Many people may think it's too bold for them and not worth the investment so perhaps you'll need to show them how they can wear it (weddings, prom, outdoor parties, etc.)

Good luck!

I may be the odd man out here, but I prefer your third image better. From the picture with the model it looks like a simple flower behind her ear, not actual jewelry. Personally I would never click on it if I was in a search, the picture of the actual item is really nice, very well lit, and certainly catchy enough to intrigue me to click it and learn more. But again that's definitely my opinion! Beautiful item, can't wait to see more items in your shop!

Re: Need Ideas on Promoting an item

All wonderful feedback guys.. thanks very much!... Kitty, I do have a website www.efflorajewelry.com that has a bunch more photos, but the items are not for sale yet.. so I don't want to be misleading. I had a professional photo shoot done at the Waldorf Astoria, so some of the photos are quite dazzling. I will try all of the other social media websites as well to try and drive business. Also, I have thought about bridal and garden shows.. will certainly be looking into them!

crudeco: I don't have NO items.. I have 1 very unique item lol :)

Cara: I have considered the idea of offering different studs to increase the amount of items on my page. I wonder how many is enough? should I try for about 10 different stud options?

Ariana: Great imput. I have wondered whether or not that first picture was not depicting the item enough.. but on the other hand I wanted to show a pretty girl on the listing pic since I always see the shops that have models as their first pic get thousands of views. Maybe I'll give your suggestion a shot and see how that works.

More to come, thanks guys
