Etsy is a means to create an actual shop. Imagine if you had a shop on the high-street and only offer 2 items.
The past year has seen an influx of people on the internet claiming it's possible to make a passive income selling digital files on etsy. This is not true. 5 years ago it was possible--but because of so many people believing these claims, etsy is now over saturated with digital sellers.
Why is it not possible? The reasoning behind people claiming it's possible is they look at successful digital sellers, do some basic math and claim anyone can make money--what they're not understanding is the most successful digital shops started years ago when the market was not over saturated. Their sales and success has been through a lot of years of hard work.
You're also going to find you're fighting against the skills many have during the digital age. People use Canva, have their own editing software and can use free templates on canva to create similar digital items
You are also going to be going against the etsy sellers who offer printing--who create beautiful artwork and designs for weddings and have created long standing wedding based businesses.
So what can you do?
You need 100+ items to even get regular views. Etsy is not a sprint, it's a marathon and needs to be approached with a serious business model. That means understanding in your first year you may not make a profit--but during that first year you will need to put in a lot of hours to bring your business forward. That includes improving skills, understanding the market, adapting, growing and building your brand.
Finish your shop, you have right now in your about me section that you're a body shop at home consultant. Your about me section should be about the services and items you offer. Include your design process. How you stepped into exploring digital creations.
@LarchHill2023 IF YOU GIVE UP AFTER 2 DAYS AND 2 LISTINGS ETSY MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU. I’m also new and work extremely hard on my shop.
Post a lot more listings and also work on the images ( Clarity) . Stay positive Etsy takes time that is what everyone says.
