Multiple listings or one with options.

Good morning.. Have a question.

What works better having multiple listings of the same basic item but with different colors, sizes, materials etc. or one listing with all the options shown and explained.

My personalized swings: https://www.etsy.com/listing/108800918/personalized-childs-swing-children

Will soon be avilable in 3 sizes and probably 3 lettering styles not to mention all the color options and I am trying to decide the best way to list them.

Thanks
Daniel Smith

Re: Multiple listings or one with options.

I do multiple listings. I just find it's less confusing for potential customers.

Re: Multiple listings or one with options.

I have wondered that too! I do fabric items and it's hard to know what fabric people will want in what item - but what I am figuring out is that when people don't sew they really don't know what they want they just see something they like and click on it because they like that item. So I think multiple listings is the way I am going to go also. Hope this helps some. Blessings - Sandy

Re: Multiple listings or one with options.

I've been debating that myself. I decided to stick with multiple listings with back links to the others.

Re: Multiple listings or one with options.

I do different listings and tag and title them differently, same concept but just different order so they get found in other searches.

I agree with Sandy that most people just click on an item they like, I know im guilty of that.

Good Luck!

Re: Multiple listings or one with options.

I would also go with multiple listings. I make some ornaments with very similar designs (say, a ladybug with a number 1...with a number 2...with a number 3). I definately make several listings. I think it provides more opportunities to get found (I try to vary the tags and change the title so I CAN get noticed more).

So what if you list to get your shop count up? Who cares? etsy sure doesn't! They are making their $.20/listing...the more the better! :-)

Re: Multiple listings or one with options.

If it is a popular item, I think it is better to do multiple listings with options. People click on what appeals, and if they don't click on your listing, they'll never read about the options. It's also a chance to vary your tags and titles and potentially bring in more buyers.
