More Sales!

I am just too excited to have an Etsy shop!
I have paid for my tags to be on top, and to have a showcase, but I am not making the type of sales I'd like.
Any Advice?
Check out my shop and give me some critique!
Thank you!

Re: More Sales!

Hi Andrea! Your cards are really great :)

However I don't think that your photos are doing your beautiful work any justice. I would suggest better lighting and perhaps a plain white background to really make them stand out. There is LOADS of info on the blogs about photography, just do a search. There is some really helpful articles!

I'd also suggest adding more items. Perhaps set yourself a goal to try and get to 50 items. The more items you have, the higher up you'll appear in searches.

Good luck! :)

Re: More Sales!

I agree with Eilidh about your photos. Better lighting, no shadow, white background -- this will really make your cards pop. I'd suggest making a lightbox, it's cheap and easy and will make 100% difference. Your photos will grab more attention and your items will get featured in treasuries more often.

I also think you should try to have more than one photo with each listing. Maybe a pic of the card with the envelope it comes with? What about what the card looks like on the inside when you open it? Buyers want all the info and detail they can get before they commit to a purchase.

Also, FOR SURE, you need to use all 13 (or is it 14?) of the available tags. I see you are only using about 8 to 10 for each one. The more tags you use, the more of a chance you have for someone to find your item.

You could also beef up your descriptions more. I love your Valentine's Day card, but I don't know anything about it other than it's measurements and what I see in the picture. Tell me about some of the materials you used to make the card, did you assemble everything here by hand? Is it patterned scrapbook paper glued to card stock? Buyers will want to know. Some of these materials you can use as inspiration for the tags you could be adding to your listings.

All of these are relatively easy things that you can do to improve your shop, and once you change your photos (and add more), add tags and more descriptions, you will see a drastic increase in your views and hopefully your sales!!

Re: More Sales!

From what I have heard you have to have about 50 or more items in your shop to generate the traffic you need. My goal is to try and get there myself. Hang in there!

Keep going, I think more items, do your prices reflect the work you put in?
You cards are lovely take more photos maybe show the envelope in your packaging. Go to local craft fairs. Just some ideas.

Your work is great! But I much agree with the above said. Photos. Way too dark, and really busy in the background. Try a single color back ground, it will help bring out the real beauty in your products. Oh, and patience! Selling your first item takes lots and lots of patience! Good luck to you. :)

Re: More Sales!

I didn't find the advertising was worth the money at least for my shop. I generate a lot more looks by offering a very cheap item, for me I usually offer something at 0.20c. You list this as a pay it forward (PIF) item. I get a lot of views that way. Also try listing your items on wanelo. I get a lot of looks from there too and it doesn't cost anything too!
