I am running out of my moo.com business card, which incidentally came out FABULOUS! I opted for the more expensive paper ... and I get SO many compliments on them. Anyway, like I said--I'm running out of them and need to re~order. They also give an option for "mini-cards" and I'm wondering if I should get them in addition to my 'regular' cards. I do like to punch a little hole in the upper left-hand corner and tie a card to the gift box with ribbon. But I'm thinking that the mini-cards would be perfect for that. SOOOO, my ultimate question is: What information would you put on the card? Would you include everything that is on your regular card? Is this an unnecessary extra expense? What would YOU do?
I make my own hang tags out of cardstock for some of my items. I just have "Handmade by Haus of Ariella HausofAriella.Etsy.Com" on them. I don't think you need all of the info that's on the regular card, especially if you're including both in the order. Using minicards for that is too much of an added expense for me right now, since I can make my own hangtags, but I think they would look nice and professional if you have the money.
Ariella ... where do you buy the cardstock ... and is it already cut-to-size? I'd love to hand-write my tags, but I just don't think it would look as professional as printed tags. Do you print them yourself? I'd love to save money ... but not at the expense of peoples' first impression. Hmmmm. What to do??
I get letter sized cardstock from Michael's. I have a paper cutter (which was on sale for $9) so the cuts are even. I think they look pretty good, though they'd probably look nicer if they were glossy.
last week I got my newly made moo minicards and I love them even more than the regular ones. I find shape is simply perfect. On mine I put: "(name of the shop) (short shop announcement - just 3 words) (Thank you for your purchase) (etsy URL) (email)" everything fits without being too much. I kept the main infos in a bigger font size. Everything is perfectly readable. The most amazing thing is that I put my own photos on the front side, and they turned out really great. :)
I make for each item a tag, thinking to get a paper cutter (now I hand cut with a cutter and a ruler). I made a rubber stamp with my logo so I print one side with it and I round corners with a puncher. I'm pretty satisfied with them :)
Anna, my paper cutter was the best $9 investment I've made. I got it for my magnets, but I also use it for hangtags, earring cards, coupons, and stickers for some of my products. I highly recommend getting one. It makes life so much easier.
WOW! A paper-cutter for $9?!?! Where in the world did you manage to find that, Ariella??
@Anna--you say you made a rubber stamp with your logo. Do you mean that you HAD it made (by a company) or you yourself made it?? I really like that idea as well. As far as the moo.com mini-cards...do you have your logo on that, too? I also had photographs of my items on the backs of my regular moo cards and they were FABULOUS. And the company (moo.com) was SO accommodating. I highly recommend them!!
I actually got the paper cutter at Michael's. They were having a 50% off sale on their Fiskar paper cutters and I got one of the cheaper ones. It's not fancy and you can't cut more than 2-3 sheets of cardstock at a time (it has a sliding blade), but it works quite well for my purposes.
Is that the kind of paper cutter teachers used to have in their classrooms? That's what I'm picturing. (Those can't be $9, can they??) Thank you, Ariella.
If you don't want to cut them out you can buy a box of business cards for printers. With a printing program you can make them say what ever you would like.
Y'know, Ariella--I've NEVER seen that!! But now I'm completely intrigued...and I think I MUST have one!! Lol. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the info.
Btw, Anna of Muu Bear ... your little knit brooches are ADORABLE!! :)
Awww man! 100 free cards?!? it used to be 50! I guess I should have waited! I'm running out and missed a promo they were doing- if you bought mini cards (for about $20), you could get 30% off your business cards! That's what I get for having my husband do my graphic stuff :/
FanTAStic! Thank you for posting Ariella's link, Jenni. I know they've been running a special -- and I ALSO know that when one special ends -- it's not too long before they run another one. (But this one is REALLY good) I'd better get on it!!
Here's a quick question though. I'm thinking of changing my Facebook fan page to JujubeaderFB instead of Jujubeader (long story--but it has to do with dropping the #s at the end of my url--and yes, I have over 200 likes) ANYWAY ... if you were me, would you just wait until I make the change (IF I'm making the change) OR would you just put "Look for me on Facebook" without any specific URL (since I don't know IF of WHAT I'm doing yet)
Any thoughts re: what I should do about my Facebook URL? Do you think simply writing: "Find me on Facebook" is enough?? (Just in case I change my URL to www.facebook.com/pages/jujubeaderfb)??
Please forgive me for asking this multiple times. Ugh ... I'm still undecided!! :-/
