Monday Matters: What song would you play in your shop if it were a brick and mortar?

I love to have music that fits my current mood (or the mood I'd like to be in) and I usually have a playlist at the ready. This morning I needed a little extra motivation to get out of bed, so my day started with some fun dancy jams to get me moving.

If your shop were a brick and mortar, what song would you play as customers entered to create the perfect vibe?

Bah! I love this question--probably because I'm a music therapy student. ;-) I'd have to say I am Mountain by Gungor. But if you asked me tomorrow I might telly you something different.

Anything by Deep Forest, my jewelry has a tribal vibe, so I feel like that would play really well in my shop.

I used to work in a stationery shop and I loved playing either french cafe music or Brazillian jazz aka Bossa Nova - easy and light music seemed to put buyers in a great mood. I wonder if craft vendors sell more at a jazz festival than a rock festival? haha

I love happy semi-electric stuff like Electric Love by Borns (or anything by Borns, really) or Electric Feel like MGMT...it's good shopping music...also love Frank Sinatra, flouncy Beyoncé like "Hello", old Prince (think Purple Rain/Delirious/Never Take the Place of Your Man)..I need to stop myself or I'll go on forever.

I use a lot of turquoise, so I might play some Jessita Reye (Native American flute player). Something low and pleasing but helps set the tone. I hate walking into stores that have jouncy loud music.

I would not bother my b&m customers with music.
Instead I'd impress them with my products and my customer service.

Earth and nature sounds...like rain on a tin roof, waterfall, babbling brook, breeze through the trees...or soothing piano instrumental.

Oh my, I'm constantly creating a mental playlist. I imagine customers stepping into the shop to the gorgeous ballad, "Orange Fell," by the terrific Scottish indie pop band, Trashcan Sinatras.

i play acadian fiddle tunes or other east coast folk tunes, it's kind of what people are expecting when they vacation on the island and visit my studio. i love a shop with music, any kind, as long as i don't have to scream to ask a question :)

I'd have Jambalaya by the Carpenters followed by High Hopes by Frank Sinatra - on repeat all day! (maybe not, they might not come back if I play them too much).
