May goals

I decided I'm going to start setting goals at the beginning of every month. It is the only way I'm going to be able to keep up with 2 venues.

So, my May goals are:
1. Sell 1 item. I just want 1 sale this month.
2. List 5 items. I am slowly bringing back over items from my other venue, so if I do 5, I will be happy.
3. Make 1 new product. I have a few different products I like to make. So, I want to make and list 1 new product this month.

Share your business goals for the month.

Re: May goals

Those sound like great goals to have. Good luck! :)

My May goals are:

- Make my first sale! <3
- Complete Spring/Summer lookbook
- Finish updating my linesheet
- Secure 2 wholesale accounts
- Put together colors for Fall/Winter collections
- Meet with 1 local nail salon owner

Lots to do! :) Thanks for the post. It really helps to get my goals all written down. Doesn't seem so overwhelming that way!

Re: May goals

If I used nail polish, I would totally buy from you, Poppy. But with my day job of typing all day and my crocheting, nail polish chips very quickly.

But those are great goals!

Re: May goals

Ok, let's see
- i'd like to beat the revenue from may last year
- list daily
- i'd like to get up to 140 items. Been trying to reach that goal for a few months but then i always got some sales ;-)
- i need to continue to work on my photos
These are the most important things to achieve i might also make a few more minor goals too

Re: May goals

Aw, thanks Jen!

I actually type constantly, too, because I work from home. This polish actually holds up really well.
Here's a picture I snapped of my polish (2 coats, no top coat) after a week and a half of typing, kids, scrubbing, etc.

Re: May goals

I believe that goals should be challenging, yet attainable. Otherwise you get frustrated and want to give up. Which is why New Year's resolutions never work.

If I get 1 sale, then for June I will work for 2 sales.

Re: May goals

I would love to be able to quit my day job. But, that isn't exactly feasible right now with being a single parent. Maybe if I find that one thing that everyone has to have, and I can make a good profit from.

Happy May Day!

Re: May goals

I've managed to keep my number of listings around 100 items. I want to increase that to 125.
Find some good wholesale items on ETSY for my brick & mortar venues.
I like the quit my day job goal but not yet, already asked to drop to 4 days a week.
download my photos from my android phone to my apple computer
Clean my house before Mother's Day

Re: May goals

Ooh, what a great thread. I was just thinking of my May goals this morning. :)

My goals include:

* Expanding my polymer clay bead jewelry selection
* Expanding my heart arrhythmia jewellery line
* Getting more followers on Facebook (I have 8)
* Updating some of my photos of my older items
* Reorganizing my studio (that'll probably take all month!)
* Ordering new business cards
* Putting together a portfolio that I can bring to potential wholesale venues

Hopefully I can get at least a couple of these things done. :)

Re: May goals

Awesome thread.

1. Have over 100 listings (so close)
2. Make one more sale than last month
3. Figure out how to take the best pictures (critiques and suggestions welcome)
4. Buy more products on etsy :)

Re: May goals

My May goals are:
• To make and list 1 new item every day until I get to 100 items (got a fair way to go lol)
• To make a minimum of 1 sale, I don't want to say just 1 sale as I flee that is limiting myself :)
• To regularly post to my Facebook page, twitter account, Pinterest, and google+ account
• Last but not least to stay active on as many team forums as I can!
Phew if I manage all of that this month as well as hold down my day job I think I'll be doing pretty well lol. I hope you all manage to achieve your goals, especially the sales ones ;)

Re: May goals

May Goals:

1. Beat May 2013 revenue. Last May was painfully slow, so I am hoping I at least do better this year. But knowing it's my slowest month of the year, I am mentally prepared for it.

2. List at least 2 items a day and get my inventory as close to 200 as possible.

3. Finalize and list another pattern.

4. Keep bookkeeping up to date. I have been doing well on this so far!

Re: May goals

My goals for May are to reach 40 sales (I am at 30 right now).
List 2 to 3 new items every other day
On the days I am not listing create a Treasury List
End the month with 125 items in my shop ( unless they begin selling like hotcakes, in which case, I will be happy to end the month with at least 100 items still in my shop:) I currently have 103.

Re: May goals

My current May goals are
1) Sell 1 item a week
2) List at least 1 item a day
3) Fill out my sections that have only a couple of items
4) Re-do the photos for the ones that need it

now outside of Etsy my goal for May is to finalize at least 12 designs/looks for a fashion show that will be in July or August, and preferably get a start on the actual construction of said designs.

Re: May goals

I have recently been able to cut back the hours of my day job and have been working on adding products to kimberleeannJewelry. I so want to be able to have a profitable shop that customers will enjoy! Wish me luck!
