Made Some Changes

Alright guys, I made some changes in my shop, including new pictures and new items. I was wondering if I could possibly get a critique?

Re: Made Some Changes

My advice, is (and I know its annoying) more pictures! There is only one angle of the jar in both pictures I looked at. I am also not really familiar with what cold cream and vanishing cream do. I adore all things vintage and these look classy and elegant, but a little simple. How do you package them? Putting a picture of that, and maybe a jar "in use" on a vintage styled dressing table would be pretty sassy :) Have you considered selling samples, in small containers, for the people like me, who aren't familiar with something from a past era?
hope this helps, best of luck!!

Re: Made Some Changes

Thanks for the advice Erin! I will look into jars for sample sizes, that's a great idea! The packaging is simple because it is styled after vintage cold creams where ladies would re-use the jars when they were empty :)

And just because I feel the need to educate everybody (I'm sorry, it's a compulsion haha) cold cream is used as a face cleanser/makeup remover/moisturizer in one and vanishing cream is a fancy term for lotion that that disappears into the skin really easily but is still emollient.

Again, thanks so much for the advice, I will take new pictures this weekend! :)

Re: Made Some Changes

Hey you are totally welcome. I have received a lot of help on a wide array of subjects from this team, and it only feels right to reciprocate. I think it might be a good idea to add your explination for cold cream right into your listings, for all us out there that are interested and considering buying. I saw a shop somewhere on etsy that sells these little clear jars I use a lot in my jewelry making that would be ideal for samples. I actually made some for a makeup artist that needed jars to give to her clients for a wedding touch up kit. I decopauged little roses on them and they were crazy cute! I can dig through my favorites if you end up needing help finding them. Feel free to message me directly :)

Yep, more picture. You could also try shooting on a solid color.. preferably white if you can get it to look right. I know it's annoying, but white always looks better. Play around with the settings of your camera to try and get a pure white background with little or no shadows. It looks the best for stores and is a very common practice.

Re: Made Some Changes

hi jennifer,
i think you should try to have all pics with the same backgrounds.
does it really cost you almost 14€ to ship everywhere else when the cream costs 19€??? you could up your prices and have lower shipping costs because people will not be inclined to buy something when the shipping costs are as much as the item.
also think about havng more items because that will give you more chances to get found.

Re: Made Some Changes

Thanks for the tips Marcus and Barbara! I will be doing a reshoot of my pictures this weekend and hopefully that will help!

Barbara, unfortunately the shipping can be expensive because of the weight of my product. I will definitely look into lower cost shipping options, thanks for the tip!
