Hi all! I was doing pretty good in my shop! I mean, better than I thought I would do! For awhile I was getting sales left & right, considering I've only ever had 15 total, lol. I've been open since December, so hey... not to shabby. I do a lot of my selling at craft shows, and at work. Anyhoooo. my background for my photos were all white, and I admitt, I did not use natural light. Mostly because it was winter, and horrible outside lolll. I used a simple light in my laundry room, and yes, sometimes a yellow tint would pop in there, and I'd be adjusting it in an editing program. I recently have been using the outdoors for my inspiration, hence the brown/ earthy color backdrops in my recent pictures. I'm in the process of turning all pics to this earthy color, but am afraid it doesnt fit my theme of bright bold funky..yada yada. I hate that there is a mix of white backdrop with these brown shades, but the hours in the day for me have been limited lately, so I'm working on that. Opinions would be lovely!
Also.... I used to price my items so low, almost giving them away. Ive been taking some interest in business courses and getting prices to a tee, by using the formula of expenses + labor x's 2.5 for a retail price. I even then knock the price down a tad on some listings. I just want my jewelry to get out there, and I want to be able to keep myself a float when constantly buying supplies to recreate things.
I would love a critique on my shop. How are my prices, photos? descriptions, and what is your overall outlook on what I have to offer. Also, Ive been wanting to ship internationally, and know I should... although it issss pretty intimidating to me for some reason. Mostly, because I have no idea what I'm doing. Is there a site that can help determine cost for mailing out of the U.S?
