Looking for a business partner.

Hi! I've been a seller on Etsy for a couple of years now, the sales have never been good. However, I still have the dream of selling my handmade items online. I have now realised how much I hate the business side of things, other than the photography, packing and shipping. Promotion is not my thing.

What I want is a business partner who is a marketing wiz and who likes promoting items to make a sale. I'm not asking anyone to do this for free of course, I'm offering a percentage of the sales. More sales = more money for us booth. Since I have a couple of hundred items just laying in my house which have never been used or posted, I believe that the partnership could be lucrative. Anyone reading this who feels this could be something for you? Look in my shop and see if my items is something you could get behind and promote. Do you want to help me get my shop going? Please post something here or send me a message directly.

Do you have an Instagram. We find lots of photographers, bloggers, and models on Instagram that will both give us pictures of the items we send them but also will promote our items to their followers. It has worked well for us, and might for you as well.

Re: Looking for a business partner.

To Object Apparel,

I've read about others doing the same thing. I'm just wondering how these relationships begin. Do you just reach out and ask them? Is this a bartering thing or is it paid? I'd love to know the details of how these relationships get started.

Thank you!
Regina

Re: Looking for a business partner.

Regina,
For us it began with people reaching out to us. However it could easily work both ways. With the collaborations we do its always a barter. I give items in exchange for pictures (I ask for a minimum of 10 pictures of each item). Since we have started doing this the amount of people I get asking me to collaborate has increased. I have found that just exchanging an item for exposure doesn't do as much, but with getting the exposure and pictures it is definitely worth it for us. Feel free to message me if you have any further questions!
