Looking for Shop Feedback

Hi everyone! We set up our shop a few months ago and we would like to get feedback from other Etsy sellers on how we can improve our shop. Any thoughts or ideas on how to improve our shop would be appreciated!

Our shop is at http://RedKiteCreations.etsy.com

Re: Looking for Shop Feedback

Hi,

I think your shop is great. The pens are so pretty! And you have a lot of different items that would appeal to more people.

One thing I noticed is that most of your pictures are great but there are a few that seem dark. For example, the pictures of the blankets. I also think it will be better if you fold the blanket and tie a ribbon. It will look very cute that way.

The diaper babies in a basket - such a cute idea but the pictures are not very good.

The pictures of the pens, key-chains, and the bags are great! They look professional. The other pictures need some work. But that's something I am also still working on. :-)

Your policies are clear and fair. The items are described well.

So, overall I really like your shop. I have even liked some items and favorited your shop. If I weren't so poor at the moment, I'd have bought the Flame Box Elder Wood pen. So pretty.

Re: Looking for Shop Feedback

Thank you for your feedback Diana! Our early pictures are primarily the ones that showed up dark, we've done some research since then to improve them but still have trouble with the larger items. We actually got a large roll of paper and hung it on the wall to use as a larger back drop for our larger items, and with some daylight 100-watt equivalent cfl bulbs, it's helped quite a bit but it's still a work in progress!

I like your idea about tying a ribbon around the blankets, we'll have to try that!

By the way, you've got such cute items in your shop!

Re: Looking for Shop Feedback

Hi There,

I just reviewed your shop's listings and I found it very easy to navigate and the pictures were very clear. I am fairly new to etsy so upon reading many blogs and suggestions from successful shop owners, I was informed that the first word in your listing should be the most relevant to your item. So you could try maybe changing the order of the words in your listing title. Not sure if that helps but couldn't find anything wrong. Good luck!

Your photos are fine, if a bit photofuzed (you might try a few in a more natural setting, slightly less brightened/exposed afterwards). SEO is not great. Have you read a basic SEO tutorial about matching phrases in tags and titles, and not repeating single words as tags that are already parts of phrases, doing keyword research, etc.? That is where I would focus next.

Re: Looking for Shop Feedback

Thanks for the feedback! We will check out the SEO and title tips to see how we can improve our search results. I've done some research into SEO but I have to admit, it is a bit confusing!

I also appreciate the comment about our photos, we actually don't do much adjusting afterwards but we use daylight bulbs and adjust the setting on our camera to get the white background. It does seem to affect some of our lighter colored items (for example, pens with chrome accents, the chrome tends to blend in more with the background). We'll play around with it a bit and see if we can make some improvements to our pictures!

Great work and welcome to Etsy! Good advice above.

I noticed that you have two types of ribbon on your roll up blackboard. You can use the materials function so the buyer can easily choose which design they'd like.

Re: Looking for Shop Feedback

I just left your shop and it is lovely. I especially loved the diaper cakes. They are adorable! The only thing I noticed that needed work was some of the pictures were dark. I had the same issue and like you it is still a work in progress. Happy sales

Thanks Bev, that's a great point! We haven't really used the variations options yet, but that would be a good product to use it on. We'll take a look at all our products and see if there are others we can do that on as well!

Re: Looking for Shop Feedback

Thank you Susan! The diaper cakes and diaper babies were very popular at the last craft show we did, they make great baby shower gifts and centerpieces. We're going to try to have all of our photos updated this week so we don't have any more dark photos.
