Local Football

I just added some bodysuits with some ties of the local football teams around. Is this a smart idea? It's really hard to buy fabric of different football teams out of state. I was just curious if anyone has any knowledge on local football team sales.

You need permission from the school to use their name / trademark for selling items.

I just use the school colors - not school names or licensed materials. Always big sellers - and appeal to school & sport fans as well as the general public who just like the color combos - so I have a wider target market.

I would just do like Barbara. Call it school colors, team colors, football team colors, sports team, team spirit, etc.

And there are a lot of similar color combs for schools, Red/white, blue/white, orange/black, blue/gold, green/white, etc. There are only so many color combos so it isn't like it is just local customers who would buy.

School colors are OK to use, but to sell the actual school merchandise you do need permission- depending on the school, they might be completely fine with it, but some large name schools might want a fee or to make sure your merchandise is properly insured (just in case!). In my area the top two universities for the state are green and white or maze and blue. Green and white is also the colors for several of the high schools, so win-win there!

Our two universities that are big are also green and white and maze and blue. Funny how that works. I guess I'll look into it more.
